Export images in "webp" format
Please allow for images to be exported in "WEBP" formats.
Sketch caters for "WEBP" formats (see attached image) and it would be great if XD was able to (both read and) export to this format too.

Our developers are asking for this format for most assets, and it also recommended by Google so would be great if we can have this in XD!

Need import and export support for WEBP. It's 2020, WEBP is everywhere!

Hi, our developers have asked us to provide images as WebP as well to reduce file size and improve SEO. Thanks!

Its a shame that XD doesn't have a decent panel to export images. We are in 2020, webP is 10 years old, even safari is supporting it now...
Performance is a SUPER critical factor on websites we design, webP delivers much higher quality in a much smaller file. Its really annoying having to go back and forth between apps for such a simple task.

Please do that!

Support for webp is quite urgent for our workflow. We have to use the webp plugin for Photoshop in order to save the image files in this format which is a pain. There is not even support with using Adobe Bridge > Photoshop - Image Processor to batch convert files to webp, only PSD, JPEG and TIFF formats are supported. Please prioritize workflow features/functionality and especially with the understanding of this not being a standalone tool.

This is becoming essential as Google's PageSpeed Insights is becoming more demanding and pushing towards requiring "next-gen" image formats being used on websites.
Adobe are behind the curve here with a number of competitors already offering webp for some time (notably Sketch).

Why on earth is this feature not included yet?

yes Webp support is needed if XD wants to be a premier prototyping tool.

Please do! I'm using transparency quite often in my designs and PNG just weights a ton. We need a new light format to export. JPEG 2000 is also a good option but XD doesn't support it.

Push! would be a very helpful feature!
