It would be great to export PSDs for developers that still use photoshop as their main spec tool. Also layering by group would be really helpful.

Done correctly, I think it would be a major visual design workflow advance if one could design in XD and then hand that file off to developers as a layered Photoshop file with live type and smart objects, etc.

It doesn't work for complicated design file.

And I found the way resolve this.
But, It can not include editable text.

1. Export as PDF on XD
2. Open the PDF on AI
3. Export to PSD with below properties.
72 ppi, RGB, has layer, include ICC profile,.

Will be very nice if I as developer will be able to work with XD files in assets.adobe.com like with PSD (e.g. extract/measure stuff from them without need to install any additional software)

i was expecting this to be incorporated since it's an adobe product. I need to share with developers who don't have or care to have CC, and the only way to avoid redlining manually when we share specs, i have to use 3rd party products. These products only accept Sketch and Photoshop files. After web extract was disabled, this has been troublesome. NEED THIS.

it was really a big surprise to me after finalising my project already and now it's time to export to PSD for the developer to find out that Adobe's rival to Sketch does NOT support PSD!
it was a rule of thump belief to me that i even didn't bother to check it out once i downloaded the app.
please guys do it asap, otherwise why should I leave my already comfy sketch?!

I need this asap. Affinity Designer is the only non Adobe program that exports to psd. Sketch doesn't do it either.

This absolutely has to happen. Being able to go from a clickable prototype to psd would be enormous. More than one of my developers asks for psd files so that they can export to Zeplin and other applications so that they can extract color palettes and text styling. Even though i've suggested downloading XD for free—since they already use Photoshop—that seemed to be too much of a chasm to breach. Note my sarcasm but my very real pain.

I'm asking this because the possibilities offered by XD are an absolute godsend for designers who want to be able to comp up and present their designs—spending at least 1/2 the time it would take to create them in photoshop. Not having to click through mile long layers lists in photoshop is a timesaver. That said, i've been using photoshop for over 20 years and could not live without it. I just don't want to use it as a layout tool.

Photoshop psd export and additionally text markup are a must.

Please add Export to PSD in the next release, so that person using mac can share the files with windows users.

To quickly import PSD in Dreamweaver with accuracy, I need dis ;)

This so needs to happen. All the mobile devs I work with only accept PSD files, and it's a pain to export each artboard to SVG -> Open in AI -> Remove clipping boxes etc -> export AI to PSD... it makes no sense. Adobe makes Photoshop so it has to be supported.

it is not enough to share XD flat png screen with other, if you need them to edit the elements/texts in photoshop and separate those elements too!

when do you realistically see at least the export as psd from xd?

since i did not realize such a natural instinct for xd would be missed by adobe in initial xd version, i did whole site home page in xd and now have to redo it all in psd, since xc does not export.

Adobe XD is a beautiful tool for Ui/Ux designers, I find it to be an absolute blessing. In my professional career I have always encountered difficulties when it came to communicating my designs with developers, the prototyping tool made things a lot easier for them to understand certain animations and functionalities. However they still do not recommend that I use Adobe XD as my primary design tool as it does not export the design as a PSD, and suggested that I use Photoshop instead and use XD only to highlight certain features.

I honestly disagree with them because:

1- I like to disagree with them all the time (I can't help it)
2- Adobe XD is just the best tool when it comes to interaction design, and it has been cleverly crafted for a certain type of design methodology.

It is important for me that this tool evolves into the world's primary software for UI/UX design, however if I do use it I will be in constant clash with my development team. For certain technical reasons, that I as a designer can't completely fathom, it is important that developers receive my design as a layered PSD.

I think for Adobe XD to bridge the gap between designers and developers, it should integrate exporting features that enable designers to save their files as layered PSDs. For this to be implemented, XD must first introduce layers to its software so that the design process could be fast, clean and organised.

I come from Egypt where developers don't understand any file format other than PSD. I tried using InDesign, a far more superior and flexible software, but that proved to be an epic failure, since there was no ability to export as PSD either. You have no idea how happy I am with Adobe XD, it is simply the answer to all my prayers since I started paying attention to Interaction Design classes in uni. As a designer I urge you to make the Adobe XD experience more comprehensive and productive by adding this feature.

Yes, ability to export XD project to something like Photoshop or Extract is vital. Otherwise XD is a dead end in the workflow.

We can spend a lot of time on development of nice mockups with balanced UI. But in the end of the day, UI designer will have to start the entire work from scratch to create a format that will be readable by HTML markupers.

Right now, XD — it's a dead end in our workflow. And we'd like it to be one of the stages.

some clients dont have XD, so ask me the .psd file.

Hi Kindly add export to .psd with layer for adobe XD

Exporting from XD to a layered Photoshop file is a showstopper feature for me when it comes to working with Development Teams. I freelance with lots of interactive agencies, and all their development teams expect either retina-display or standard resolution PSD files for some/many/all page designs for tablet and mobile.

I would love to use XD to change my workflow, so that I only doing 1 or 2 pages in Photoshop (because I'm most comfortable there), and then importing those into XD, and then doing all subsequent designs in XD.

That workflow would make my life as a designer much easier, especially when working with clients who don't understand responsive. I could show them the functionality of the website in XD, get approval, and then prior to handoff of the designs to the Devs, I could export the XD files as PSDs.

I'm really looking forward to this feature. I'm not sure how I could actually work around it right now when working with a large organization. It's not a problem if you do Dev/Design both (as many of us do). But agency Dev Teams? And offshore teams especially? They want those PSD files.
