Font Awesome integration
When I need Font Awesome icons, I have to go and create them in Illustrator, rasterise them and import them into XD.
My FontAwesome ttf font family appears in the font list but it doesn't work (not applied to selection).
Ideally I would want to select FontAwesome from the font list (or as a glyph), type it, and rasterise/vectorise it.

I have a similar issue where it is not loading the Font Awesome Font, even though it is clearly active in other programs. We use Extensis Universal Type Server/Client to manage our fonts. I have used the font in my design but when I open the document it says missing fonts. It only happens sometimes, which is also strange. I am using the most recent version of Font Awesome Pro FYI.

Yes I have tried restart my computer and re-launch XD. Neither works. A couple of folks on the design/product team are experiencing the same issue.
Thanks for your attention!

I have just installed Font Awesome 5 (FA5) fonts for desktop. It doesn't show icons in XD (latest update to date), only text.
I type "tags", choose FA5 from font menu and it remains in text format - "tags", doesn't transform in tags icon, as it's supposed to do.FA5 works in Illustrator and Photoshop.
I am also using Material Icons (MI), Google's ligature based icon font, and it works in XD. Font Awesome 4 (FA4) also works in XD (not ligature).Any solution on this?
The reason I would love to switch to another ligature based icon font is because MI doesn't render on XD mobile app during USB connected mobile preview. I would like to try and see if FA5 renders on mobile app preview. -

How about this?
Step 1: installing in your system, the Font Awesome Font
Step 2: Go to the Font Awesome Cheatsheet page, select and copy the desired glyph
Step 3: Paste the copied icon in your text field, then change the font to Font Awesome
Step 4: ????
Step 5: Profit!!!! -

If you need a collection of "web" icons, I created a XD project with some of my favorite sets from Icomoon.io. Feel free to download it and add your own favorite icon sets. https://adobe.ly/2m6eduh

Adding a glyphs palette would cover ANY icon fonts, not only FontAwesome

Try this link: http://www.flaticon.com/packs/font-awesome
or https://github.com/encharm/Font-Awesome-SVG-PNG
You can get all FA icons as: png, svg, psd, eps etc....

Why rasterize when you can import SVG, or is that a feature that's been added after this suggestion was posted?

+1 For Glyphs integration (Photoshop-like)

@kerry I would treat that as a bug rather than a feature if it does the same with other icon fonts.

Just copy from cheatsheet into text field.

Zach, the fonts will appear in Adobe XD on the desktop, but they won't be shown in the iOS live view on a device.

FontAwesome works fine if you copy an icon from their cheatsheet (http://fontawesome.io/cheatsheet/), paste it in a text field on XD, set font to FontAwesome.
Glyphs integration and Outline Text would be awesome on the other hand.
