Please do sort out this aspect - it must be within Adobe's power to make this very effective. The lack of reasonable file sizes in PDF exports stopped our plans to implement XD across far more stages of our work flow.

Please get this plugged in guys. PDF is the global standard for file viewing all clients just take this as a given. Having to save PDF as PostScript, then run Distiller to compress, should not be a manual process.

In a busy studio we are taking up considerable time managing this process.

I know the online prototype is marvellous and great, but a lot of clients just want a PDF for viewing and for their own records.

Any improvements here would be great. Thanks

Just exported my 6 pages-layout to PDF: 480,8 mb.
Compressed it with Acrobat Pro: 480,6 mb.

WTF - this is ridiculous. PDFs are not even optimizable via Acrobat DC. What knd of uncompressable data is stored in that PDF files? Please fix!

Defo one for me. I often export to PDF for offline viewing of the artboards. The sizes generated are often 20+ MG

We would love this feature as well. It's almost impossible to open some PDF files at this point with how large the files export. Especially if we need to share with a client, it looks poorly. Thank you!

I've got a 900MB PDF from a 50 page website.

As other comments say, this really isn't good for workflow. Plus don't you feel a bit embarrassed by leaving these bugs in one of your applications???

At least have the courtesy of letting your customers know when you’ll fix this.

If this is any help to people, here’s a fix to reducing the file size but it’s faff: in your MASSIVE PDF, go to ‘Enhanced scanned PDF’ in Acrobat, where you can adjust the quality on a slider and shrink the PDF. This will take about 30 minutes for Acrobat to process, but saves a bit of embarrassment when sharing MASSIVE files with clients. My file is now 40MB.

Hey Adobe what's going on? You have been quiet on this issue since 2018? You are pissing off loyal fans of XD by ignoring this bug that makes sharing PDFs with clients, not practical. An update from Adobe would be most helpful.

Looking at alternative products as this is now totally prohibitive to not only our workflow but the way we present and interact with our clients. Average sizes are well in excess of 500meg for 12 page design layouts which is beyond ridiculous.

When exporting the artboards as PDF, it gives a very huge file size i.e. around 65 MB or more (depending upon numbers of artboards). So that it is hard to attach to an email and share with clients.
To make it small, I need to use Acrobat or export as jpg and then insert into other programs to create small size pdf. I have to do it manually and this takes time. If there will be additional features to get small size pdf, this will save a lot of efforts and time.

This is a major issue. One that needs Adobe's top attention to fix.

Hi Adobe, i don't know what is the "state of art" of presenting and sending layouts to a client? For me it is since years, to create PDFs and send it to the client via e-mail. Do you (the developers of Adobe) use something new, something better? Upload the prototype to a server and share a link, or something like that? Sorry, i am so oldschool, i use just PDFs. Even for my file-archive. But i love XD for its new possibilities, why not optimize the PDF-Export like InDesign? Thanks, Paul

Adobe can you give an ETA on this? I'd rather you not work on adding any new features until something as basic as presenting to a client a clean pdf is accomplished. I may have to go back to Sketch if this doesn't get resolved.

The PDF export is pure crap on XD. Sometimes the file is bloated other times it is a low resolution mess. Terrible. Adobe you invented the PDF format. You should really get your shit together.
