Copy vector art from Illustrator
I can't find this exact feature request so I thought I would request it here. Is it possible to build XD so that any Adobe Illustrator artwork can be pasted into it?
Photoshop has this ability so I'm continuing to use Photoshop for app design, however, Sketch has some nice features over Photoshop but it's inability to accept even the most simple compound shapes from Illustrator make it virtually unusable for serious design. If preventing users from switching permanently to Sketch is on Adobe's radar, I think y'all should get Illustrator objects compatibility going. It'll be the clincher to ensure XD wins the UX design fight in the end.
Consider using the same "Vector Object" engine that Photoshop has. We don't care about edibility within XD so just make it paste as Vector Object and we'll be fine.
Specific issues:
* Pixel dimensions not aligning
* Dotted lines
* Rounded stroke
* Text is broken up into individual lines

Closing this one, as we have improved in December and with the latest release the copy and paste workflow between XD and Illustrator.
If there are specific things missing, let us know in comments or in a separate request.

Adobe, you have taught me not to take professional functionality and especially compatibility for granted nowadays. Continue like this and you will lose your advantage and market share eventually. It's unbelievable how some simple functions are missing from XD or that simple copy-paste from illustrator doesn't work properly. Examine your own UX workflow before selling us the one and only UX-tool LOL...

Should be able to copy/paste paths from InDesign also. Rarely use AI.

This is a great feature. Being able to bring in line icons and have editing ability within XD is hugely helpful for so many creative elements.

If we ignore the tone of the comment above, the request itself is a good one. Sometimes you are supplied artwork from others, from a print piece or from a file that you need to update. Also, XD's vector manipulation and typographic detail are appalling, so those of us who need to use a quality tool to prepare assets and then use the great aspects of XD like linking up a prototype or repeating content items for example can work smart and have a good outcome (Especially once XD sorts out the correct way to cut and paste back and forth from Illustrator)

I don't understand , why do you want to copy and paste paragraphs from AI, when you can make them in XD?

How about when you cop in XD and paste into Illustrator and get a png not vectors.

In my opinion it's work but not well as i think. I have a beautiful curved shape in Ai, i copied that and paste to XD then it's not curved anymore. You can try with any floral illustrations. Hope it's work better in next update.

Also you can't paste masked images from illustrator into XD.

It is seriously unfathomable to have to recreate a work flow in a new tool simply for creating user specific barriers to entry.
The work flow of creating wires is super fast and intuitive to existing users who are proficient in adobe illustrator.
Copying text, images, hell, anything should be a seamless integration from one tool to another.This BS that you guys have now is pathetic. Copying a line of text and having XD not know a letter in a sentence is just a mistake on your product teams requirements.
Sketch has the same problem, but thats at least understandable bc its a DIFFERENT COMPANY.
Anything done in illustrator should be easily imported with ZERO data loss, otherwise, your tool creates more work than needed.
