CAD style navigation: Zoom directly with mouse wheel (without holding ALT), Pan by holding mouse wheel button (without Space key)
Wouldn't it be nice we had the option to zoom in and out just by using the zoom wheel and panning by clicking on the wheel / third mouse button ?
This is the way all the CAD programs work and I never understood why it isn't omnipresent.
Right now scrolling on the wheel will move the page up and down (who needs this ?) and only by holding ALT on the keyboard will get the zoom tool activated, respectively only by holding SPACE will the pan get activated.
Why do we bother with this and need to keep holding our left hand on ALT / SPACE all the time if we can achieve everything with a single button / wheel ?
Thanks!

Yes, XD's inability to zoom with scroll wheel is garbage. It should be an option to configure the mouse functionality. I do CAD also, and zooming by mouse wheel is the only way. Scrolling up/down is worthless.
Did someone write a plugin yet that can enable the very basic optional functionality of zoom wheeling?

It is possible implement this feature right now on windows by autohotkey.com (i prefer v2 syntax):
#if WinActive("Adobe XD") && WinActive("ahk_exe ApplicationFrameHost.exe")
WheelUp::Send "!{WheelUp}" ;zoom+
WheelDown::Send "!{WheelDown}" ;zoom-On macos there is hammerspoon.org or pqrs.org/osx/karabiner

Wish this feature request gets implemented. To me too, simply scrolling to Zoom In/Out is much more user friendly. Affinity Designer offers the same via 'Preferences'. Corel worked in a similar manner.

Please add as an option(somewhere in Preferences) to be able to pan around while holding the middle-mouse button.
I am so used to panning with middle mouse from other software and even computer games that I just can't get used to having to hold Spacebar and Left Mouse together.

Please allow mouse wheel zoom without having to hold CTRL.
It's super convenient to pan around your document using just the middle mouse button .. but zooming requires an additional key.

Please don't change the way XD scrolls and zooms!

Adobe (or someone) has set the standards for scrolling art spaces for years.
• Scroll = up and down
• Ctrl + Scroll = Left and right
• Alt + Scroll = zoom in and out
• Adding Shift to any of the above options modifies the action to larger increments of scroll/zoomAre you suggesting they change their industry standard to fit the CAD standard?
Maybe the better feature request would be to have the scrolling style be an option, to select between the two for people who are trying to make the transition.

I suspect many (most?) XD users are using Apple's Magic Mouse, which works perfectly with the current functionality. This might make sense for the Windows version, since Windows mouses usually have a physical scroll wheel, but I hope they don't change a thing about panning/zooming on Mac.
