Change default fill and stroke settings (color, etc.) used when drawing new shapes
It's quite frustrating that every time I use the shape tools, I have to remove the stroke and change the fill.
Like in ID and AI, it would be useful if the object fill and stroke remembers the previous settings, or a default could be somehow set.

This needs WAAAAY more votes. It is insane that every single time i need to check-of the stroke thing :/

Having access in preferences to a setting that would allow the user to switch from the default pale grey for everything would be very valuable.
I am working on a prototype wireframe that means all the detail is quite small, so currently I have to change every element to black to give it higher contrast. If I was able to change the default grey to black that would save me heaps of time.

Translated:
It is troubled because I can not initialize it though the color to use often is decided.
Since there are frequently used colors for each design, please be decided to come out every time in the initial setting.
Also, when drawing a rectangle it is troublesome to have to turn off the line every time a line is not needed.
Please make initial settings so that the color of paint, color of line, ON / OFF of paint, ON / OFF of line are like grid. -

+1. It does become a little frustrating ever time I create a new shape it has the same fill color and border. What I find more frustrating is that a border is always included. It would be extremely beneficial and efficient to be able to control the default settings of the fill and border colors and whether a new shape even uses a fill and/or border.

+1 for this feature. If XD is able to remember the last used setting that would be great.

+1 on Joseph's comment.
Use the style of the last selected object/last used style. Would help a lot without use for new UI elements/settings. Works for fonts as well.

I would also add that Font selection, or an ability to set a default is important. Most designs will use the same font over and over, and as much as we all love Helvetica Neue I need Xd to remember my project's font.

1. As a designer, I can change the border and fill colors and if I switch to another tool and come back, the color settings are saved.
2. It is valuable because I keep having to change it over and over, the defaults are not good.

The Artboard tool seems to be a case of "one of these things is not like the others"
When I click on the artboard tool with nothing selected, I can choose at the right from multiple artboard default sizes (e.g., Apple watch, Surface Pro 4) and this becomes the default setting for the artboard tool when clicked on the canvas. This artboard default is maintained even if I have a different sized artboard selected when I click the artboard tool onto the canvas. No other tool behaves this way.
Example: the rectangle tool with nothing selected always draws the stock gray-bordered white rectangle, with no way to set its defaults at the right like you can for the artboard. Also different: if a differently styled rectangle is selected while drawing a new one, the rectangle's default style is ignored and it draws with the selected one's style. Not true for the artboard tool.
Shouldn't all tools use the same model? E.g., conform to the selected object's style when an instance of that tool's object is selected regardless of default; allow resetting of the tool's default when no such item is selected.
