EV-ERRRR-RY time I look for an answer to an Adobe XD problem I have due to basic missing features and lack of well-thought-out core capabilities, I wind up on USER VOICE and find the same thing - everyone else has the same complaint, and it goes for years without Adobe replying or adding any of the requests or suggestions from this community. Frustrating.

This feature is extremely important and is arguably a bug. Not being able to distinguish design backgrounds from the XD prototype background is confusing team members and clients!

Please give us the ability to change the XD prototype background color. Even better, don't encase our prototypes in a frame AT ALL! Present them fully in the browser the way they are meant to be seen.

Attached are two screenshots. One, of the current broken presentation (where the wireframe background is getting lost in the interface background), and one where customization is allowed (and my client can clearly see the boundaries).

I truly hope that we will be able to use this capability in the near future! People with whom I distribute the publish links seem to have difficulty distinguishing the user interface (UI) from the XD publish interface. https://dordle.io

An option could be to automatically include a frame on each screen of the design...

there should be a darkmod or back ground change scheme as i have recommend this to my audience through graphic blog (https://moonstonering.shop/collections/moon-rings) now i think there should be some updates atleast in background color scheme so the user can use it in night or they can use darkmod.

Or allow us to turn on shadowing to lift the UI mockup from the background.

I would really like to see this feature implemented sooner! I've noticed people I share the publish links with struggle to separate the UI from the XD publish interface.

Please add this option!

I've probably pushed thousands of users to XD from my youtube channel over the years (DesignCourse), but this is one of those features that has to be implemented in order for me to continue recommending XD.

I was trying to design with a background color that was very similar to the canvas background, and it makes designing very frustrating.

I need this. Stakeholders/clients are getting confused.

I want to use the link to test with people. Here are the problems:
1. Distractions from all the cookie pop-ups and other information, how to exit full screen and what to do. I want to control that so the person exploring can focus on the task at hand.
2. Allow for a custom background around the screens, I don't want it to be white.

When viewing the presentation in full screen mode, I would like to use a different background color then white. So the edges of de design are visible.

For example when you view a design on a bigger screen than the actual size of the designed screen layout.

When viewing a prototype with a white background, you can't see the artboard's edges/frame. It makes the prototype loose structure.

Then if i decide to view the prototype in xd app, fonts are unavailable and the prototype looks different.
So, how am I supposed to present my work to concerned parties.

Adobe XD has been great but there's too many little but important and critical elements missing.

Some of the complaints I've seen on uservoice have been around for years and nothing has happened.

I would love this feature too - Come on Adobe, please implement this.

When sharing on the web, if we have artboards with white backgrounds, there is no visual separation between artboard and background. I suggest making the option for making the background dark, or implementind device frames.

It's critical to have the background be black (or hopefully customizable) for mobile and tablet designs. If your mockup has a white background, you can't really tell where the screen starts and ends. It makes the designs look like they're just floating. It'd be great if it looked like preview mode in full screen.. it has the black background to isolate the designs.

Check out InVision, they nailed this. And i'm team XD all the way, so it's hard for me to say this.
What would be even better is if the web share could toss a designated device border around the app.
