Hello Peter Flynn (Admin). Thank you for replying. However, there is a technical reason why Adobe XD cannot support Tap/hover effect in the future. Otherwise why would the Adobe team ignore the second most highest rated Feature Request after labeling it as "Feature in the backlog" 2 years ago with no news, updates for XD users.
The key is in your message when you stated 'Its a matter of prioritizing'. Tap/Hover became a priority because the customers voted for it.
I rest my case.

Kamran: there's no technical reason why Adobe XD cannot support a Tap/Hover effect in the future. It's just a matter of prioritizing that work (and the other features that would probably have to come with it) vs. the hundreds of other requests here. Rest assured it's on our radar.

Adobe will not be able to include a tap/hover effect.
However, I hear that Adobe may improve Spark to become a Muse like tool which will include such features leaving Adobe XD to be an exclusively App design tool

I don't know if this will solve the problem but when I'm doing a tapping effect, I'm using this tutorial.

Basically, you will just create an art board of the same size of the menu or button (this is the tap effect or change of appearance), then set it as overlay and use dissolve and reduce the timing. Once you click on it under prototype, you can now toggle the effect on and off.
I hope this helps.

It's not plausible for the Adobe team to even contemplate including a tap/hover effect. Software engineers will understand why without going into detail.
However I don't see any reason to integrate a third-party application which will enable tap/hover. But by doing so will include more hours into prototyping which defies the whole purpose of Adobe producing this tentative tool.

Yeah - would be good. I detect that it might not be easy to implement though?
