Thanks for your feedback! UserVoice works best when you file only one suggestion per ticket.
I’ll keep this open for identifying the character style in the design. As for your question, you can change the text formatting in the property inspector to the right and automatically unlink it from the character style in your assets panel.

Hi everyone,
We’ve started working on multiple fills and borders, with plans to extend to this multiple shadows in the future.
Best,

Several of the items originally mentioned here are covered by other feature requests already:
- Dotted/dashed lines: https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007/suggestions/13024749-dotted-and-dashed-line-border-styles
- Accept CSS as input for styling XD elements: https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007/suggestions/12926715-use-css-to-specify-object-appearance
The only suggestion I think we don’t have listed yet is arrow-head line endings. To keep the request list tidy, I will change the title here so it is specifically focused on that one idea. Please upvote the other links above so your interest in those features is captured too.
Thanks for your feedback!

XD seems a little behind on this experience compared to Sketch and Figma. For example, when you apply a Character Style in XD, you're unable to actually identify that a character style is applied to the text element. It's almost as if nothing happens, other than the text conforming to the style (main purpose, but we need to be able to visually confirm and identify in either the assets panel or the text inspector that a style is indeed applied AND linked). Right-click on text box > Reveal Character Style in Assets is one too many steps. That highlight/identifier should immediately happen when I click on a text box that has a Character Style applied.
Additionally, the way you're describing the action to "unlink" a Character Style is conceptually a workaround. To unlink, we should not have to actually change values or settings of the text, we should be able to unlink a chain like you would for constraining width and height. This is one of the only areas where Sketch and Figma painfully excel above XD.
