@Leigh - Sorry to break your heart :-( We too have had similar discussions. We are satisified with XD as a design tool. It would be monumental effort to switch with the sole reason being file transfer/ownership. It would take 6-8 months, and watch the day we make the switch, Adobe would release the File Change enhancements! You are right, Adobe is making swift changes, but not in the right design team collaboration areas. Everyone on XD on a design team needs to keep bombarding this forum (maybe NEW threads each time it happens) and contacting Adobe support to keep this going until they fix.

This is my FOURTH time posting on this CRITICAL MUST HAVE. I have wasted SIX hours going thru a designers file who left the team to resave the XD files to myself so we can publish and make changes.
Gone are all the old prototype links for documentation. You clearly do not care about any design team that has multiple designers moving on/off project. What on earth is your product owners/development team doing? Clearly not listening to the needs of your design team customers - which there are TONS judging from this thread.

FIGMA can do it - what cant you???

    1. Open the project in the File Browser
    2. Click the Share button at the top of the page. This will open the sharing modal for that project.
    3. Find the person you would like to transfer ownership to. You can only transfer ownership to someone who is an existing collaborator on that Project.
    4. Click the arrow next to the new Owner to adjust their permissions. Select Owner from the options:
    5. Click the Transfer ownership button to confirm. You can't undo this action.
    6. Figma will transfer ownership of the project, and any files, to the new owner. Figma won't change the project's. location or adjust your permissions on the project.

This is my THIRD time posting on this CRITICAL MUST HAVE. Our team had contractors roll of EOY and we had to again scramble and waste TONS OF TIME to save as a new version, new owner, republish links, etc. This is beyond absurd!!! Get you stuff together Adobe - We have HAD it!! BTW - I found a service to convert XD files to Sketch or Figma. Once we get thru a massive project push at front part of year and if you still haven't solved this, we are seriously looking into moving to an actual design team friendly tool! BOOOO ADOBE!!!! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

We are a team of 7 and had a designer move on to another job. I have to go in and open 50+ cloud files and save as a new version so someone else can publish. Now all links to existing prototypes are broken. Such a colossal waste of our time. For all the collaboration hype at Adobe Max 2020, anyone part of a UX team of 3+ designers struggles with glaring omissions such as this BASIC feature! I suppose if no one took any vacation, holiday, or sick leave and stayed with their companies for ever, this would not be an issue.

This is CRITICAL for any design team. Also need ability for co-owner (or shared user) of document to publish. If a team member is out of office we have zero ability to publish the prototype.

We have hundreds of files on our team of 7. It's near impossible to quickly locate files. Even with a structured naming convention, sorting and trying to find is still a pain.

Adobe Max 2020 was all about hyping collaboration. They clearly have not spent any time with a UX team of 3+ designers who actually do production work. (Lack of ability to co-owner documents for publishing is another massive issue. See https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007-adobe-xd-feature-requests/suggestions/38308750-change-owner-of-cloud-document)

Adobe is 11.7 Billion dollar company and we spend thousands on Adobe licenses. How about take the money you paid celebrities for Adobe Max and invest in basic team collaboration tools like file search and change ownership of files.

Why is Adobe sitting on this 2 year old feature request? 170+ comments all say the same thing - it is core to any team functionality for other file users to publish a file. I commented in June 2020 and continue to scramble for a hack. If you are an editor on an XD file, you should be able to publish the file. If you own the file, you should be able to transfer ownership to someone else.

The only hack is a security dumpster fire - everyone on the team change their Adobe ID Password to one password. In emergency, you log on as the user, publish, and log off. Somewhere a IT Security expert weeps in a corner....

This is CRITICAL for any design team. We have had many issues with people being OOO and no way to publish any design changes. Please please please please get this feature developed. Thank you!

Same problem here! Coediting is breaking cloud files. :-(

Multiple pages is very helpful and much needed. I used extensively in Sketch.
Just started converting designs to XD, so hoping I wont run out of space.
    Thank you!
