Now this is possible with a plugin:
https://github.com/littlebusters/Adjust-size-by-shortcut-for-AdobeXD
You can search for the name in XD's plugin managerand if you on a Mac, you can map the shortcuts using this notation
Plugins->Adjust Size by Shortcut->Command Name
I did them as in other software and its working great.
Plugins->Adjust Size by Shortcut->Shrink Width -

Hello guys! I found a solution (in mac) that maybe you can find helpful:
1. Per Randy Edmunds' idea, install the "rename it" extension (https://renameit.design/xd)
2. In Custom keyboard shortcuts (macosx) create one for the existing "Object->Make Repeat Grid" and asign it to anything but CMD+R, this way you "release" the default shortcut mapping.
3. Assign CMD+R to "Plugins->Rename It->Rename Selected Layers"
you done!
* you can also do these with a diff extension to show rulers or anything else works for you.
Hope it helps!
