Hi All -
Can you please detail out what’s your current workflow today in XD that lands you into that situation?
In other words, are the documents that you’re pasting into linked to the source document? are they “Saved As” versions of the source documents.
This extra info will help us identify what the issue is.
Thanks,
SherifAn error occurred while saving the comment Joo Chung commentedThis is one of the most ridiculous lack of functionalities I have seen. Why, why, does it ever make sense to undo the user's work when copying and pasting elements? In what world does this make sense?! If I copy an edited instance from one file to another, it MUST retain all of the edits in the pasted version. If people want to copy the default version, you could also include a way to paste the default version. It's amazingly boneheaded that UX software would just brazenly obliterate the user's explicitly created work. Ugh.

An error occurred while saving the comment Joo Chung commentedWait, what?! How is this not a feature yet? Just absolutely boneheaded that Adobe would force master components to be tied to one file and not allow them to be moved to another file. And this app is out of beta? What the everloving F---!

We’re planning to support pages in XD. Stay tuned!
An error occurred while saving the comment Joo Chung commentedTotally need this feature. The single page plus finite canvas make working on large projects / projects with lots of screens exceptionally tedious. Add to this a separate page for MASTER components and the experience would be far far less frustrating. Especially given that master components look identical to instances until you click on them. That extra click is exceptionally annoying when you're dealing with a lot of elements. I know we can create multiple files, say, one for master components, and others for each major section of the flow, but that means we now have to juggle multiple files, which is an unnecessary headache in my opinion.

An error occurred while saving the comment Joo Chung commentedWe REALLY need this to be a thing. I waste so much time with asset instances having to get all of the text the same across instances. In our design system, like many others, we have various button states, and the fact I have to copy the custom button name into every state manually is just ridiculous. It really makes me wonder if the folks who program this software actually use it. These wasteful microinteractions add up, and make the experience time consuming and frustrating.

An error occurred while saving the comment Joo Chung commentedYeah, a big vote for this. A lot of my work involves text work, with formatting such as bold, text-links, etc. It's infuriating that I have to reformat everything when I paste. I know I can just duplicate the initial text block, but why am I forced to work in the way you (Adobe) wants vs how I do? Especially given XD's sub-par layer management interface, it's much easier to just duplicate a group containing text and copy and paste from elsewhere, rather than find the text layer, copy, then find the appopriate place in the new group, and paste.

An error occurred while saving the comment Joo Chung commentedIt should be easy to simply undo accidental changes from shapes to paths. Maybe set it so that if you click on, say, a rectangle and end up in path editing mode, if you back out without changing any points, the path will revert back to the shape. Or, perhaps even better, make shape -> path conversion an explicit choice from like a right-click menu option. Because elements can be grouped into multiple nested groups, it's far too easy to inadvertently convert a shape to path. And with the current inability to undo it, just leads to more work down the line. And this is compounded by the fact that we're forced to have either assets or layers palette shown, with no way to have both open. So if you're in assets mode, you have to click to the layers mode, find the group, and potentially do all kinds of acrobatics to make things right.

Got it. Currently, that’s expected behavior, as double clicking and adding points converts it from a rectangle (which will maintain the corner radius) to a path, which has a different set of rules for resizing (for things like icons). I think what you want is this behavior: https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007/suggestions/12962355. If this looks good, I’ll go ahead and merge this story with that one.

Hey Ryan! Definitely something I’ve been looking for as well!
I can safely say this is a feature we’d all like to see in XD.

We’ve begun working on an easier way to crop your images without using an image mask and will be releasing this in an upcoming release!

Several of the items originally mentioned here are covered by other feature requests already:
- Dotted/dashed lines: https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007/suggestions/13024749-dotted-and-dashed-line-border-styles
- Accept CSS as input for styling XD elements: https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007/suggestions/12926715-use-css-to-specify-object-appearance
The only suggestion I think we don’t have listed yet is arrow-head line endings. To keep the request list tidy, I will change the title here so it is specifically focused on that one idea. Please upvote the other links above so your interest in those features is captured too.
Thanks for your feedback!

Hi everyone,
We’ve started working on multiple fills and borders, with plans to extend to this multiple shadows in the future.
Best,

Adobe appears to care very little about things that actually improve the user experience of this software. So many basic, basic features are lacking, such as this one. Other functions overtly obliterate user work, which leads to having to do workarounds for functionality that really should be as basic as being able to copy and paste. Get your shit together Adobe.
