Hey Ryan! Definitely something I’ve been looking for as well!
I can safely say this is a feature we’d all like to see in XD.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedOMG this is super essential!
This thread got a bit confused. What we need is that the image imported into XD is linked to the original image source. Literally every design application works this way (websites, apps, programs etc.. all work this way).
Where is the source image located in XD. Makes it very hard to keep a well organised project.

An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedOur office is thinking of shifting from Sketch to XD. But without PSD export this software is unusable (for us) - as all of our developers work from PSD. This is crazy! Many developers (App & Web) insist on PSD's.
An error occurred while saving the comment Anonymous commentedWas very happy to find XD as a possible replacement for sketch. But most developers still like to clip & crop from PSD as their knowledge of design GUI programs are limited. No PSD export no XD for my agency. I simply can't waste time on the overcomplicated & frankly messy SVG-Ai-PSD approach.
XD will not get the adoption it needs if this doesn't get added soon. Simple as that.

Downvote! Not a good idea.
Muse, Dreamweaver and any previous attempts to port code from design has always failed. This is a UI tool - improve on that.
