Yes I totally agree, I'm using pen and it's harder to double click layer to rename it, it's better to use a shortcut like "Enter". selecting element from artboard or layer panel > Press Enter to rename.

sometimes I have multiple documents opened in XD and when I want to choose them via taskbar thumbnail preview or in Task View mode (Win + Tab) the title of XD window is "Adobe XD CC" which is confusing, using document name in title instead would help much more.

I meant something like Zoom to Selection which I'm using now. I click on layer in layers panel and press Ctrl + 3 to zoom on object, but it's more convenient that I just double click on layer icon.
I'm using XD 20.1.12.4 on Windows and double clicking layer icon does nothing as you said, only selecting the layer puts focus on related object in artboard that may not be visible in viewport.
