I’ve tweaked the title so it covers only exporting animation to GIF format. This will help keep our feature list fine-grained so we can get a better picture of which are the most important.
For the other formats that were originally mentioned here:
- Export animation as a video — exporting to MOV (QuickTime) is supported now, via the Record button in the Preview window. If you need to save in a different video format, please file a new suggestion with details.
- Export animation as HTML/CSS/JS — please upvote https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007/suggestions/13198020-export-html-css-animation-code
- Export animation as Flash SWF — please file a new suggestion if you need to export to this format.

It is extremely frustrating that a widely known format still has not found its way to Adobe XD. I do not want to spend the time to convert a gif into an mp4. I just want to upload a gif link or simply upload my gif into my work file with an auto animate function so that when I drop in my file, the preview will show automatically. I keep having to send my clients/team separate gif files and let them "imagine" it in motion. Really kills the thrill of the design. Please add this feature ASAP.
edit: I don't want to use a plugin for this. This should be part of our monthly subscription fee. I'm not willing to pay extra for this option that I find absolutely crucial in a design phase. 2022 trend is going to bring out a lot of motion to websites and we demand donuts and gifs. But mostly gifs! jigs, gifs, we needs them all. we wants them all. give us the sauce!
