My god, I can't believe that this request is from 2016 and that this feature never came up since !
The shortcut aren't the same from a software to another, and it is really inconvenient !
Please, let us sets our own shortcut ! -

I agree.
I am also using blue color for my design and it make it really complicated to visualise the area highlighted.
It would be so helpful to change the color of the highlight on canvas...
