Agreed. A small blue outline is practically invisible in my largely blue designs. :)
As a stopgap solution perhaps let users customize the highlight color. I would go with hot pink or fluorescent green.
And/or dim all other areas of the canvas.
Another idea: make it a highlighter-style highlight rather than an outline, that can only get so small as you zoom out so you can always see it at any zoom level.

Agreed. It would eliminate the need for a separate eyedropper tool, which is confusing anyway. I often click the color palette looking for the eyedropper functionality.

When sharing on the web, it'd be nice if fullscreen mode ignored the viewport and just extended the full length of the viewer's browser. As it is, it's a bit funky.
