    Cmd + Drag moves the artboard around which I don't want.

    Right now, pressing cmd while selecting an item lets you select that individual layer and not the whole group. With Sketch, you can press cmd + drag to select multiple individual layers, regardless of that group they're in. You can't do that in xd because cmd + drag will move the artboard around.
