Bug details

55:47:-1 - open prototype when updating

I was trying to update a prototype, but one of my clients had the prototype open at the time so i was getting a 55:47:-1 error. After asking he close it, i was then able to update the project.
This is quite a bad blocker in the prototype view in my opinion! if they happened to just leave it open and go on a business trip, then i would need to create a new link and would loose all communication and updates from the project. Especially if it was a big team i was working with.

Hopefully this can be fixed soon

Hi Nina, I am able to recreate the problem with the same file by using my mobile to view it as well as using another machine. Once it is being viewed, i get the 55:47:-1 error when trying to update the link. Another weird thing as well, I also was unable to create a link to 'share for development' until the client had closed the prototype.

I have created another project to test however and i'm not getting this error at all. The project I am getting the error on isn't that large nor is it that complicated...

    Just for reference:
its a private link i am sharing for review. Only 3 people have access to view the prototype, myself being one of them.
the project has 10 artboards, they are connected with auto animate and one of them is an overlay action.
My character styles are just 'Open Sans'.
ALL my symbols are Linked symbols from another project. (i don't know if this would break anything, but its odd if it does)

I understand now that this is very odd, and it may just be down to this one project and I may have broken the space time continuum (sorry about that). I look forward to hearing back from the developers.

    Andy

Hi, the file itself is saved on the cloud storage and I was trying to update the share for review link on my machine. I am the only person with access to the project file as well. I was trying to update the prototype to show my client the changes I made while we were in discussion, but I was unable to update and i got that error. I tried closing and opening XD a couple of times but still the same error. My client had the prototype open on his browser and after I asked him to close it I was able to update the link.
