My Adobe XD prototype links are not holding. I am saving my Adobe XD files in the new Google Stream File drive, and I see in the manage links, the prototype link is there, although when I open the Adobe XD file to update (push to update the prototype link), there isn't an "Update link" button, it's just a "Create Link" button, even though it was already created. Somehow the actual Adobe XD file and the prototype link, are not linking.

I'm having the same problem - but my files are saved on an internal server. Never had the issue before, but when another designer on my team opens my file, the links completely go away and we have to create new links...

Hi. There definitely seems to be a problem with Google Drive File Stream (GDFS) at least. We manage a whole host of XD files and when linking them, the never work when we store the links in a GDFS drive.
All other variants of linking works as in linking to something CC, or local files, or even external hard drives but not GDFS. This is even if you mark the file/folder as available for offline.
CC Sync 184.108.40.206
Windows 10 Pro Build 17763
Google Drive File Stream Version: 220.127.116.116
The same problem exists for MacOS users in the office.
the version number I have for XD is 18.104.22.168 and my CC Sync version is 22.214.171.124. My operating system is macOS High Sierra Version 10.13.6.
The link holds when I keep it saved to my local drive and even to my Creative Cloud sync folder, that doesn't seem to be the problem. As I had mentioned before, sometimes the link seems to break when placing the file on a Git repo for version control.
When the issue occurs, when I have already published the link before, the UI should show a button to update the published link, but instead, it says Publish Link/Publish New link (I can't recall the exact verbiage), essentially it appears as If I have never even published a link.
I hope this helps clear up the issue :)
P.S. Also, this seems to have no correlation with updates as I do not ever recall this occurring during or immediately following a Creative Cloud server update.
I can share those.
- It is the current version of XD as of this date.
- The current version of MacOS High Sierra as of this date.
I can provide the prototype link and XD file, but I cannot share it here as it is for a project and cannot disclose the designs in a public area.
The link doesn’t stop working, I can still use the link to view what is already there, but it seems to become disconnected from the Adobe file which causes me to be unable to publish further updates to the link.
I am not sure what you mean by checking the file from assets.adobe.com?
Thanks for your response!
I have this problem all of the time.. We push our XD files to a repo for version control, but every now and then, the prototyping link breaks and we can't push it to update, only create a new link. It would be so great to be able to connect existing links to an XD file that way we can choose which link we will be updating.
I think this is necessary for fixing those times when the link becomes disconnected, but I also think it would be nice because then you can have different links for the same file that you might want to use for somewhat of an A/B test.
