XD does not open, and when attempting to open a file i get 'invalid value for registry'
I was forced to update Adobe XD last week on 12th Oct. Done. Forced again today 17th Oct. Done.
The app simply will not open, no matter how many times i click it (via 'open' in creative cloud, or searching or clicking on the desktop app) It still does not open.
In addition, i attempted to open a .xd file directly, however, this does not seem to open and throws an error:
'Invalid value for registry'
Catch 22, cant open the app and can't use a previously created .xd document to open it either. 2 problems or one?

This post as reported is not reproducible on our end. Detailed steps are needed In order to help understand what’s going on.
In an earlier post, I requested the following info:
- XD version
- OS version
- Detailed steps of what you’re doing and where it’s not working.
— Does it happen with all your XD files?
— Where are you saving the files?
- Detailed troubleshooting steps taken
- Any system logs collected
If you’re having a problem, please open new report that includes the above for investigation.

I can't open my files? this is not good??????
Adobe XD is not launching. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling several times. But it is not opening.

I am not able to open any previously created files. The 'open' under the 'file'menu is always inactive. Any solutions? I am new to XD.

I can't open my files? I won't be using this product again, from the comments I'm reading below its happened many times, Come on? this is wrong!
Hey guys, really could use some help. I‘m sitting on a project and can‘t open my files. It keeps loading until 60-99% and then the lap top is unusable for at least 30mins. I scanned, bug fixed, reinstalled xd and did everything i could but i can‘t reopen any saved xd files.
Please help with this, I have an urgent presentation and I'm unable to open up my previous files that I need to present. v

i saved my adobe xd document but now i am unable to open my document.... i can see the adobe xd document in creative cloud files but i am unable to open... How i recover my xd file?
This is most definitely still an issue. It has just happened to me and not amount of running the clean up tool or reinstalls is fixing it. Oddly enough if I install a previous version of the Adobe XD it runs (but since files aren't backwards compatible I can't work). Currently cannot use Adobe XD.
Did we get an answer to this?
I installed-reinstalled several times but it is not opening at all! I installed 18.104.22.168 from the creative cloud desktop app.
Same, however I can open it by creating a new file and dragging the file directly into Adobe XD
I save a file...then I closed XD.but in time when I open XD and open which file i saved.it can't open.ii don't know how many time i try it to open.that's very embarrassing.

I have the same problem, I can't open any XD files, the only solution I have to open files is using the "Recent Files" that are listed when I first open the app. It works on files I have created but doesn't work on files others have created.

I'm not sure if I'm having the same problem, but the ONLY solution I have to open files is use the "Recent Files" that are listed when I first open the app. This seems to work on files I have created myself but doesn't work on files others have created.
Same problem I am experiencing, Adobe XD will no longer open any of the XD files I was working on the day before.
