Name cropped when exporting artboards to pngs
Version 0.6.32.12 Beta
I try to export multiple artboards, already naming them as I want, I export to png, when I check the pngs name: the name are not exported properly (it’s cropped randomly), some cropped, some doesn’t.
Expected result: “Mockup01 - without collaboration - 170620.png”
Actual result: “Mockup01 - without colla.png”
It's never happen on previous version. I'm using Mac.

We generate an extremely large amount of screens for mobile + desktop + differing states for each off of one XD document. If character limiting is a necessary thing then give us the ability to organize/group exporting within folders.
This is really annoying, we are constantly working with a lot of artboards showing variations of the same thing and therefore have similar names.
Shorting there names to 29 chars is more then inconvenient, as the become indistinguishable by name. It really breaks our workflow and costs a lot of time sorting it out.
Regarding your Questions, how about a 3rd solution:
no limitation to the name
but receive a message telling you which names were exported with a shortened path due to path length reasons.

Im getting a limit of 29 characters. This is ridiculous and very long winded to copy and paste every artboard name to the corresponding outputted file.
I'd also prefer no limits to the file name.
And in case the export fails for path reasons, to receive an error message.

Please fix asap, breaks workflow for me too. Even if there's character limitation I didn't even get past 60 chars on my filename.

I'd rather XD not impose a limit itself but report back the failed export and reason

No limits to file name.
I prefer no limitation to the name and in case export fails for path reasons, to receive an error message.
Because all of us have a situation like this (true artboard name in the current project):
E10 — Trusted Advisors List — Single Advisor — Review Notes — Add/Edit Review — Default
Please fix asap, this issue came in latest 2 releases.
I recommend the second option as well. I don't believe an arbitrary limitation on an artboard name is a good solution because even the shortest name can fail to export if the export directory path is danger-close to the max path length (I've seen some ridiculously deeply nested folders).
Let the user have their artboard names and give a nice descriptive message of why an export failed, so the user can then handle it as they wish.
Same issue on windows. Where the png export to a specific path worked perfectly in the previous version. It now cuts the file names and for new artboards, it adds "Asset-1" as the name. very weird. It seems to me it has nothing to do with the path length. Because it worked before...
This breaks my workflow, because I share my screens via Invision, and the file names are important.
Please fix this quickly.

I strongly recommend the second option, we should not have limitation and in case export fails for path or any reason we should receive an error message.
I'd rather have an error and rename my artboards or change paths THAN exporting files with different names then I expect, this is so frustrating and mess all our files structure.
Thank you so much for your support, please upload this update as soon as possible, I'm counting on you guys!

I've got the same issue here. I need the file names to be at its full length i.e.
"4 - Portrait - Push Notification - Price Alert Triggered - Locked Screen"
73 Characters (before .png) cut down to : "4 - Portrait - Push Noti.png"
This only appears if I export all artboards in one go, although if exporting a single artboard, the file names are ok.
Please fix asap.

Hello! The names are about 30 characters long when they are cut. They could be longer before. As Travis mentioned, if I duplicate an art board, XD adds "- 1" after the art board name, but that file is named "Asset 1.png" when exported if I do not manually change the name.
Hello Adobe Admin Mihnea Ovidenie,
If you notice my previous message:
Artboard name, expectation: "09 Refresh karena koneksi putus - 170620.png"
Actual result: "09 Refresh karena koneksi put.png"
So it's 40 characters, cropped to 29 characters

All my team is facing the same problem, the exported PNGs are getting their names cropped. I've already posted another bug with an image about that. Please fix it fast!
Experiencing the same issue with three members of my team (myself included).
Version of Adobe XD
Steps to reproduce the issues
- Select multiple or single artboard in "Design" view
- File > Export > as PNG
- Artboard(s) selected are exported to the folder selected using the name of the artboard as the filename with '.png' added.
- Example: Artboard "0001 - Home Search Programs Services" would be exported as "0001 - Home Search Programs Services.png"
- Artboard names are being truncated ("0001 - Home Search Programs Services.png" becomes "0001 - Home Search Programs Ser.png") or the names are being replaced with "Asset 1.png", "Asset 2.png")
Note this is using XD files, artboards and workflow that had been working as expected prior to the most recent version upgrade.
The file-naming of exported artboards as files is an important detail in our project workflow.

I got exactly the same problem. Appeared when I updated to the latest version, v. 0.6.32.12 on Mac. Before that it worked fine.
When mass export all art boards, almost all the file names get cropped. Seems to work if I only export one at the time.
Point 2, yes I try to export them all in one single operation
1. No, no problem if I export 1 artboard
2. No, I have 11 artboard. Naming system "[xx] [explanation] - [date today]". Same date, different explanation, different numbering (xx).
3. Artboard name, expectation: 09 Refresh karena koneksi putus - 170620.png
Actual result: 09 Refresh karena koneksi put.png
4. I'm not sure which version, I always update my XD at least once a month. I just update XD yesterday. Before that it's all fine.
Thank you for fast response
