Showing Layers AND Assets at the Same Time
I can't believe this suggestion doesn't already exist, but I work on a 32" or a 27" monitor all the time. I have plenty of screen real estate. Why not let me view both Assets and Layers panels at the same time?

The toggle between layers and assets is so annoyingly out of the way.

Allow to open the layers panel and the symbols panel at the same time (have each of them use half of the height of the left panel area).

I feel the Symbol Panel should be dockable like the other panels across the Adobe family . Docking below the Artboard panel isn't a bad idea.
Reason is the workflow become easier and faster rather having to click the symbol panel everytime to apply a symbol .

This software is so very poor because of basic oversights like this. Seems like your team were so keen on creating a 'minimal' interface that they decided to deny the user basic features & customizations.
My job is to design better user experiences yet this tool is among the worst I have encountered in my professional career. Was it not for the fact that my company now uses windows & I cant use Sketch I would have dumped this software already.

Quite frustrating having to flick between Assets and Layers all the time. Having both open would be perfect!

When you want to have open the Layers but then decide you need to see Assests it then closes the previous selected panel...this is really annoying if you want to be able to see and use both at the same time.
This feature may not be highly regarded but for me personally and maybe others having to re-open panels is tiresome and slows down my work flow would be good to lock them to the side like is all other adobe apps.
Thanks

Here's an example of the split view https://xd.adobe.com/view/8c57358f-741e-414e-8781-b7fcefaeb15b/

I would like the option for a split view with these two panels. (Take up the same horizontal space as 1 panel, but split the vertical space so you can see both)
