Highlight text style in the Asset Panel when selecting object on the canvas
Selecting text on your art-board automatically highlights its style in the Assets window
Problem:
It's hard to tell which Character Style in the Assets window I need to modify to affect a certain set of text boxes.
Solution:
To be able to click one of my text-boxes and the relevant Character Style gets highlighted in the Assets window.

Give us the ability to see to which style a text/copy is linked to similar to Zeplin.
On Zeplin, when you click a text it shows you which style it uses, which is very helpful.
On XD, it's a bit difficult. You have to right-click a certain style and then "highlight on canvas" which is very annoying. I have to zoom out to see which board was highlighted.

This should work with text selection, not just text box selection, right? I need to be able to have different character styles inside the same text box, otherwise working with text would me a mess. Imagine a text that has lots of paragraph styles, you would need to create an independent text box for each (crazy), because currently, you can't have different ones in the same text box because the line spacings get messed up. It's not usable as it is.

Problems that are A NO GO!:
1) Having to "Reveal Character Styes in Assets" is slowing me down and it's super annoying. Every single application on the planet, including the Adobe ones, automatically highlight the corresponding character style when you select text. This is ridiculous and makes no sense, it's 2020, please!
2) I can't use different character styles in the same text box because it doesn't support different line spacings in the same text box, really? How I'm supposed to work with a long text? Right now I need to create a different text box for each character style I need.
3) I'm working on an art site, which has texts with a lot of different norms (italics, etc). I can't import rich text into a text box.
4) When I'm inside a text box, I can't scroll with my mouse wheel!
5) This would be a nice addition: having the possibility of chosing a global font for the document. Character styles are by default based on this global one (you can chose not to). So if I want to try different fonts, I don't need to go to every single text on the project.

When I click on a text in design mode I have no idea which character style is currently used. In InDesign I rapidly see which style is connected to the text. To find this out in XD I always have to right click and choose "Show character style in elements". Why don't you use more proven features from InDesign? Please, make our live easier :-)

This plugin sorta works like an info of properties pallet but without any functionality when selecting from the artboard...It just gives you way to much info and yet... not enough.

When type is selected on an art board, and it is assigned a character style, it would be handy for that character style to be hilighted somehow in the side panel so I know what it is.
Also, components saved to the library/side panel can accumulate into the 100's. If I select a component on a board, it would help if it became hilighted in the side panel so I could find it faster.

It is impossible to know if selected text is attached to a pre-defined character style from properties. It would be really helpful if I could see what character style it is using from the properties panel and able to change it right there.
If you look at figma it does it really good.

When I need to find the asset in the assets panel, I need to right click 'reveal component in assets' or 'reveal color in assets' or 'reveal character style in assets' and it's very annoying. It should be highlighted automatically!

Hello, I am currently working on a document with a lot of different character styles. Identifying which text is connected to which style is a bit of a hassle, I realised.
I think it would be a great idea to add a means of showing this text is set to this specific style. Something akin to the diamond icons with components.
FYI I am loving the new release. I was about to jump ship to Figma and then you guys released this amazing update. Keep up the good work.

The option "Right click element > Reveal Character style" is not a sense of UX and fast designing process. It would be great just to highlight everytime in the assets panel when an object has been selected. And if an element from the assets panel was overridden, then it highlight it different – dashed for example.
In Indesign this feature is working perfectly with styles and colors and it should be implemented in XD also! Thanks! -

Instead of right-clicking and choosing it from the dropdown.

Right click to reveal character style is a bit time consuming. I'd actually prefer for the character style to be listed in the Text panel on the right rather than jumping my asset panel around just because I selected something. It would be nice to see at a glance that something has a style assigned to it, without having to right click to discover it.
Now, if you list it there, will there become an expectation that you can also change it from the right-hand side? Maybe. Kind of like how you can pick colors from either side (although those should be more integrated... but that's a different issue.) But-- at least being able to SEE it would be super informative.

Looks like you can now Rclick element > Reveal Character style.
This is a bit awkward. Why wouldn't XD just do this automatically?? (every text editor and other Adobe product works this way)

hey everyone, i just realised this is sort of there, RMB any text or Symbol and select Reveal Character Style in Assets or Reveal Symbol in Assets depending on what you are working on. Thank you XD.

Please this should be a simple one, when i select an object or text on my artboard, for XD to highlight the style being used on that text or object style in the asset stack. We work with 100s of styles and assets, it's very hard scrolling through them all trying to work out which style is being used. Thanks.

I recently explored the new "Reveal Color/Character Style/Symbol in Assets" implementation. It works. You right click on the element and you choose the above mentioned option, but I believe the right functionality should be exactly as the Layers Panel works. You select an element and it automatically highlights it in the panel. Right clicking is a pain and can be time consuming.
