I’m happy to announce that starting today, with the latest update, Artboard Guides functionality is part of XD!
Creation is very simple, you can simply point to the top and left of any artboard, click and drag to create guides.
You can check how Guides work in a short video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnalFtR2KMA ) or check out Adobe XD’s help pages to see all the details of the feature (https://helpx.adobe.com/xd/help/artboards-grids.html#custom-artboard-guides).
Happy designing!

I never use guides if the objects can snap to grid and auto-align. guides is old school haha ;p

Guides is an obvious inclusion for anyone.

Really looking forward to using this app for web design mockups, but I really can't until I am able to lay down guides. Please include them soon!

Pretty please! Every day I look for the guides before I realise Xd still doesn't have it. So I'd really appreciate if next update come with it! :D

Rulers and guides are a necessity. Along with that is grids. Hard to create a proper design without them.

I'd like rulers please...

Please implement rulers and guides! My upvote here. While smart guides are great it would be way easier to align across artboards, etc.

Very much needed! I was surprised guides and rules were not yet available ... Thanks for adding this indispensable feature..

I've made my own guides with outlined boxes and simply grouped them and locked them in a top layer. But still another extra step that takes away from the time saving...

Definately needed. It is enough to stop me from using the program, regardless of how great other features are, guides are so simple but crucial for web design.

Guides + Rulers should be a standard feature for such tool. How you leave this out is not very technical thinking at all.

Aside from layers (which I know are coming soon), the lack of guides is probably the only reason why I still cannot make the full switch to Adobe XD on real projects. I really cannot imagine designing a responsive website without guides. I really hope this will be added soon.
Thanks and keep up the good work! -

The repeat grid function is great, but when using it as a guideline grid, it can become difficult to work with. Do you leave the layer locked and them manually reorder the elements as you add block colours, or manually turn down the opacity to see the finished result?
It'd be great to be able to create a grid layer using the repeat grid feature and then toggle that layer on and off with a keyboard shortcut.

I'm a little puzzled as to how a design application like this could ever come into play without the possibility to draw guides - establishing a functional grid is such a fundamental part of our work as designers. For me the Xd is not really of much use in my workflow without this.

I think it would be a good idea if guides were persistent across artboards, so you can easily reference a particular position on screen.

Agreed - Can't set up initial doc with gutters/guides etc.

Since there's this.. https://adobexd.uservoice.com/forums/353007-adobe-xd-feature-requests/suggestions/12924606-layout-grid-columns-rows-margins-gutter Maybe this is a seperate 'custom guides' feature?
