Since I know Adobe MUSE will end the suppurt in March 2020 I look for an alernative and I tried Adobe XD. XD is a great program for Websites-Layout, but there is a lot missing for professional websites:

html-generator (without expensive plug-ins)
creating a link to a external wevsites
to get an emailclient

All these in XD missing features are in MUSE, so that XD is not an alternative for professional websites. - Please let this complain the XD developer! I would appreciate an answer to bookinfo38@gmx.de.

It's not, in my view, a question of IF, but WHEN Adobe will offer this.

A full-featured (and robust!) html/css export implementation would be impossible to resist for XD aficionados.

I'm really just astounded that you built a tool that you claim is great for conveying web design to developers, and yet it can't actually export any web files that a developer would actually use.

WTAF?

Exporting HTML without also exporting CSS is useless, pointless, and I hope you don't waste our time and money on it.

The feature we want is to be able to export both HTML and CSS in one go for a single board or for all boards. Anything less is unacceptable.

A simple click through prototype with images and hotspots would be great. Like Click-Dummy for Sketch.

I need this

The lack of this one feature is preventing me from using XD. My job is producing HTML prototypes.
There is a browser-based tool that I currently use -- called ProtoIO, which does provide click-able and keyboard interactions, scrolling containers, layers... and HTML output of a project file. It lacks the amazing tools like repeat grid and plug-in support in XD. But, it has never crashed on me and has that "export project to HTML" feature.
Once Adobe can do this, I'm COMPLETELY onboard to switch my workflow!

But... XD is for prototyping? This isn't nearly as important for designers as some of the other features that are desperately lacking. This is just asking for the app to turn into another app. Dreamweaver?

Please, add it. This update is really needed.

Does export feature has clickable HTML ?

Having the option to properly export as a code to HTML, or wordpress temp, or even an ecommerce platform just like you find on Muse or Template Toaster would be awesome.

I believe there are some of us who wants to design and build a beautiful website without being tied to template and coding.
Though, the ability to still code would always be welcomed for sure. Just some cases we might not need that, so having the option to export like in MUSE or Template Toaster or Webflow would be awesome.

Great job so far guys, really excited about the future of XD.

Most important... please add it

I would like this to work like an export of a html file, which I can open in my browser. Just to export some things for work, that i'm not allowed to upload to Adobe-Cloud. So I can share it with my colleagues and show them animations, workflows and such and not just exported pngs / pdfs. No one needs perfect ready code of the prototype, we just need an export for our files to share them, while not uploading them to some cloud.

If XD has this feature then it will occupy the market like forever till no one needs websites.

To sum it short, mobile responsive from the same layout (using css in this case), not forcing a designer to make extra layout for each device dimensions (and duplicate elements from one layout to another, and reuse the single layout according to specified rules).

Totally right, my company does not allow external cloud stuff. Need simple way (like html export) to spread prototypes without Adobe Cloud

It's not about having useful code in the end, it's about having an offline-export for your prototypes. Many people are not allowed to upload their stuff into adobe-cloud and share them.
