Yes it would be a cool feature to have it on elements, but if you just want to create a dashed, or dotted line it can be achieved even now. Just create a small line (for dashed line) or circle (for dotted line), and apply repeat grid on it, then you adjust the spacing between the repeated elements, and you'r done. :)

Please add border for 1 side ... it's basic in CSS

For now I've just been pasting a dashed stroke from Sketch:
- Retains the properties when you scale the object
- Can't copy the style to other objects

Guys, I really really need this for my designs. It's preventing me from designing certain things, and now I'm having to figure out ways around needing dashed lines in my design!

So disappointed XD has now moved into an official CC release without dotted and dashed lines and borders. IMO, this was a HUGE miss! There are so many great features in XD, but unfortunately they are not enough to override the things that are missing. Using Repeat Grid to create a simple dotted line is not only not efficient, but is horrible for borders of boxes. Sadly, I think we are done reviewing this product hoping it will work for us... it's time to head back to using Sketch.

It was a year since you started, it looks like you not moving fast on this.

As long as it has the ability to have rounded caps, the plan makes sense. Also, the wrap toggle switch in AI is really handy.

I'd like to see an align to corners option like in AI as well. I think you could also use the interaction pattern from the repeating grid tool for the dash/gap adjustment control.
