Image cropping / repositioning within shape mask (after dragging bitmap into a shape)
Provide the ability to reposition/move images within masks.
If you make a mask via Object > Mask With Shape, then you can double-click into it to reposition the image (or other content) within the mask.
However, if you drag an image file onto a shape, it gets masked by the shape and you CANNOT reposition the image or adjust the cropping. It is auto-cropped to fill the shape when you resize it, but you don't currently get full control of the cropping.

voting for this feature - little things like this make a huge difference.
The brand proposition is NOT "we have a new feature" the brand proposition is "people love the features we have".

Awesome, I agree! Seems like a no-brainer. Definitely could use the feature right about now…

New update and again nothing happened here... This is so frustrating that such a basic feature is still not part of the program. Do you think we should save 5 differently cropped versions of images because you cannot move an image within a shape in XD? That's so sad... Affinity Designer and Sketch can just about laugh that...

The repeat grid is a great tool but if you can not repositioning images is only for kids playing around. If a client wants a specific photo with a specific crop I have to do it in photoshop doesn't make any sense to have an app as XD even if I like it.

This feature should be on top of the que, how is this not implemented prior to official release is beyond comprehension.

Please learn something from Figma Design.

Make it so that when you drag and drop to fill an image it creates an editable layer mask instead of a locked image. Similar to how indesign works.

It is not possible to adjust a single image, that has a masked object as a shape, while in a repeated grid.
Also, the implantation of masked objects, and readjusting dropped images inside shapes is still extremely poor, please fix this. InDesign should be the gold standard to compare against, and XD should function the same.

How was this not introduced since the first mention of the need in 2016?

How does this not get implemented as a day 1 requirement? wow, the entire Adobe XD team should really open InDesign and get some basic ideas.

Yes, please just simply make the "mask with shape" as a result for a drag and drop on a shape.

When I create a circle, or square, i usually drag-and-drop images inside objects. And then, sometimes i have a 16:9 image, and my object is 1:1 (Square).
I want to change scale, and position of the image INSIDE the square. But I can't. When I scale or change position, it changes the position of the square, not the image itself.
