Zoom Tool
Rather than fixed zoom amounts, a Zoom tool (in the toolbar - z to select it) would be a great addition - allowing marquee style zooming
Hi everyone,
just wanted to let you know, that we have just shipped the zoom tool in the July update of XD.
In addition to zooming with Alt+Mouse Scroll or Pinch-to-zoom on trackpad, you can now access the actual marquee zoom tool in the toolbar via the loupe icon (Z shortcut) or the temporary zoom like in PS and AI via SPACE+CMD, that allows you to do panning and zooming together when navigating the canvas.
Hope you enjoy it.

Agree. As well. I already have an ergonomic ping from lack of zoom features.

Voted - Please add this feature. I hit "Z" all the time and would love if that could bring up the zoom tool.

I've tried transitioning from Illustrator to XD but the current Zoom functionality mucks up my workflow. Once the Z to select feature is introduced I'll transition.

The zoom tool is very important when you use a graphic tablet (let's say a Wacom).
Just using keyboard for zoom in and out forces me to move both hands from my tablet. -

Agree with the others. Changing keyboard shortcuts from the standard CC apps is frustrating - especially zoom.

I agree a keyboard shortcut is really needed. I tried the two below but they don't work for me. I'm on a MAC.

A Zoom Tool that works by dragging a selection around the area you want to zoom in on, when you need a closer view.
Without even selecting the Zoom Tool, a shortcut do this is by holding down spacebar+Command (Mac) & spacebar+Ctrl (Win when available), which temporarily switches me to the Zoom Tool set to "zoom in" mode. Then, while still holding the keys down, I'll click and drag a selection around that specific location. Bam, just like that I just focus on a specific area of the design.

A zoom tool is expected. I feel something is really missing with XD when I press Z subconsciously. I am wondering how they can exclude this feature.

Agree! Is there a reason for being the way it is?

Agree with Ean Moody's comment … Please escalate in the Backlog and invoke Drag Select Zoom (eg. CMD+Spacebar), as per other Adobe applications, since User may wish to specifically zoom around a particular artboard/page or a particular element in page.

Agreed. Similar to the way PS and AI do zooming with hotkeys

Seriously, this has been a feature in every other application since forever. Consider using the simpler zoom control from Sketch (Z) or use your own (Space + Command).
