Layout Grid (Columns, Rows, Margins, Gutter)
Have an ability to display a grid/guides mainly for web design use cases.
As you’ve probably noticed, we’ve delivered Layout Grids in the November release of XD. We’d love specific feedback on Layout Grids as we continue to grow, so I’m closing this feature request. If you have specific additional functionality you’d like to see in the Layout Grid feature, please do file it as a new feature request in the Design feature area!
Thanks,
-Elaine

It seems to be complicated … or is it just for windows?

WOW...I just realized it's been almost a year since I up-voted this feature.

"We are currently designing this feature and planning to pickup this work soon. It’s high on the list for us."
22 MAY 2017 STILL NO RULERS and GUIDES............ and you want us to use XD over sketch...

I'd rather work with Adobe XD than with Sketch. But without a grid system it is impossible. That can not be that hard. Come on guys!

Please put this in ASAP!

This software is unusable without this feature. Every design starts with me setting my layout columns. I will not move from Sketch until this feature is implemented.

Taking a long time, so please get it right. I have to create my own grids and lock the elements. A hassle to say the least.

I just tried XD today for a new web design project. It's completely impossible to use without a grid or guides. It's like I've gone back in time 15 years and I'm just randomly guessing where to place stuff like an amateur.

Ok, time to pause Windows 10 design track and get back to Mac features, especially layout view. This feature alone would make the choice between Sketch and Xd a much easier decision.

Please add guides.

I keep looking for a grid, you have it available in InDesign, Illustrator, and photoshop, why not XD?

We are looking out for some feedback w.r.t to Layout Grids.

XD Team, Why not make our design process easier and generate a bootstrap grid system with every new artboard, I mean when I create a new artboard I'd like to have an auto generated grid that fits my artboard size, I thinks this feature will help us a lot.

I need this one too.

Checking in on the status of this. Last response from Tom is coming up on a year. This is one of the most debilitating omissions from an otherwise great UX Design application!

I have never used a grid overlay and don't think you need one for static designs. You really don't need one in your code base either. CSS Grid and Flexbox have you covered there.
