Layout Grid (Columns, Rows, Margins, Gutter)
Have an ability to display a grid/guides mainly for web design use cases.
As you’ve probably noticed, we’ve delivered Layout Grids in the November release of XD. We’d love specific feedback on Layout Grids as we continue to grow, so I’m closing this feature request. If you have specific additional functionality you’d like to see in the Layout Grid feature, please do file it as a new feature request in the Design feature area!
Thanks,
-Elaine

Not sure how / why you would launch a product with no ability to add or create a layout grid. This is design 101!
Is there a timeline when this feature will be added?

Please release this feature asap at least a Ruler so we can start using XD

Any idea how long this will take?? Just tried to switch to XD (again) from Sketch... and there's no layout. aaaaaaaaaaargh

No grid system or guides... Are you serious??

Well your out of Beta and it still isnt here? What are you guys doing over there at Adobe honestly. This legit is the ONLY reason people use Sketch over your products and the fact that you didnt include at least a rip off of sketch is just sad and I have honestly lost all faith in this project. I have downloaded it every time there was a new update, and when i saw no grids I uninstalled. Get your shit together, and if its not clear by all the comments here well then I have no hope.

Saw the announcement that XD was out of beta and immediately came to see if grids had finally been implemented. I'm surprised to see that it's still work in progress. XD is still an unsuitable alternative to Sketch without grids.

it's pretty much the first step for designing anything digital. Foundation, bootstrap.... don't use square guides. There is no css for that.

It is the top 3rd most voted feature of all features. I was excited at the announcement today until I saw, still no grids. It's still beta if it doesn't have layout grids.
Can we have some insight as to what could be the reason it's taking so long for a basic feature? It's such an important aspect of designing a digital layout that to not have it, respectfully is kind of a joke.
If XD is to be used for a project from beginning to end, it has to have Layout Grid panel like Ps or Ai and the ability for snapping to baseline grids.

are you serious?! arguably layout grid is even more important that guides - this is where all your work starts! this is such a basic feature, I'm surprised it's still missing.... we need comprehensive grid system tools added asap. thx!

19 months since I first posted. I have had to move on with an alternative work flow. This is just disappointing from Adobe, XD apears to be a vanity project.

No layout grid tool = no Adobe XD

Was thrilled to see XD has moved out of Beta and was immediately let down by the lack of a layout grid tool. This is essential and until it is incorporated in to XD, I'll be sticking with Sketch. I'm a big fan of the 8px grid method. Vertical rhythm is important too.

It would be interesting to find the grids of cues used in Photoshop. This feature is hugely lacking on Adobe XD

Please do not forget the grids to create vertical rhythm.

Just as a heads up, the tool will be flexible, but we're trying to figure out what most people use on a regular basis to see if we can provide smart defaults. So, if you received the survey, please do fill it out!

I second Kjell Ruben's reply - how about the best of 2 worlds ? : total flexibility per Kjell said; then preformatted plug and play (updatable) grids you could import in - based on real world grids top design companies would use - some provided by Adobe; others crowdsourced via 3rd party XD community

Jisses, just had to stop that grid survey as it was going the wrong way. Doesn't look good. Totally wrong questions!

Finally XD's gonna get to be something better than a simple toy! Hurray!

Thanks for working on this! Have filled out the survey.
@Joachim - I suspect the specificity of the questions is to find out what people need... if your need is flexibility (which is also my need) then put it in the survey and I'm sure it will be collated and added to the pile.
I wouldn't take the questionnaire as hinting at a solution; if Adobe's UX people who are making the UX-specific product aren't finding out how users behave then I'd be more concerned...
