Import Videos & Animated GIFs to show in interactive preview
Support to import a video or animated GIFs to simulate animations or even playable video.
Hello everyone! I’m excited to announce that in XD 45 (released today 10/26), you will be able to import MP4 video into your XD designs.
To ensure platform compatibility and performance across desktop, web and mobile preview, your video must be:
MP4
H.264
AAC audio
under 15 MB
4K or under resolution.
Enjoy and we can’t wait to see what you create!
XD does not support Animated GIF, so if you are still looking for that, please start a separate request and vote on it.

It's essential to have Gif and Video features.

Please let us add videos (mp4 files) or at least interactive GIF. Also add options for prototypes to TV OS.

It would be great to embed a video player in our prototypes and play the video! Waiting for it!!

We also need it, just noticed this wasn't supported in the current release of XD. This will make our presentation of our current concept much less realistic ... please add this feature soon, rather yesterday than today! This is really a big minus for XD.

I badly need this feature. If they will not, I find another prototyping application that can import videos or Gifs and forget adobe XD.

Pleaseeeeeeeeeee sort this function out!
Actual ridiculous Adobe. Did you really think we wouldn't need this function? -

This would be extremely valuable to my clients. Maybe part of the "fill option" where you can fill a shape with a video and have crop/position controls.
At the very least, allow the use of gif files.

I am surprised I even have to ask. But If you would like to be competitive I would start by adding the feature to import or reference Video and or Animated Gifs.

In the video "Live UX Design with Travis Neilson 2/3" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dCmuSNPTwTQ) they've stuck at 44:00 to explain the UX they wanted. The waveform they've came up with could be done with an animated gif.

Can we at least get animated gif supported?

i'm always looking for ways to prototype medical device UIs and gifs are almost necessary when trying to communicate device behaviors. Please add!!!

 :+1: Both formats are necessary.
Case scenarios: I sometimes use GIF animations as part of a preloading process or simple Interface helpers (such as motion icons, explainers/tutorials on tours, etc.)
Most of the websites I design now include video, so, the use of MP4 for backgrounds and small sections would be an awesome feature. Should prototypes be masked, animated and screen recorded while video is being used, that would definitely work as a replacement of After Effects in my current Motion Prototype Workflow.
Thanks!

Yes! Please add this! It would be much better when presenting prototypes to clients!
