Import Videos & Animated GIFs to show in interactive preview

Support to import a video or animated GIFs to simulate animations or even playable video.

Hello everyone! I’m excited to announce that in XD 45 (released today 10/26), you will be able to import MP4 video into your XD designs.

To ensure platform compatibility and performance across desktop, web and mobile preview, your video must be:

MP4
H.264
AAC audio
under 15 MB
4K or under resolution.

Enjoy and we can’t wait to see what you create!

XD does not support Animated GIF, so if you are still looking for that, please start a separate request and vote on it.

    A simple animated gif could creatively add SO much to a prototype. Full video is overkill.

    It would be nice to be able to import videos! I really need that to show the full capability of my prototype design.

    Lack of video makes it difficult to integrate animators work into prototype greatly reducing the effectiveness of XD as a tool.

    Using XD for prototyping interactive kioks without the ability to upload a video is a BUMMER.. Even if it only supported HTML5 or webm files, It would be a game changer.. Learning to work in XD has been extremely easy and made a lot of sense up until this point.

    Working on a sci-fi TV show, this would be a tremendous win for production. Instead of fixing green tablets in post, we can use our motion graphic design with interactive elements using Xd. It would be instrumental in selling actor performances.

    Videos are a "must" in design tools. For backgrounds, icons, etc

    I'm trying to import A video from my adobe stock account and what I'm asking myself is, why would adobe have video stock and not allow all of there tools to run the very stock adobe wants everybody to pay for? That's kind of RETARDED!!! don't you think?

    Just a curios thought, juuuust a thought...

    Hi, What I mean is being able to add a video and adding controls to it. "Previous and Next Frame" "Speed of the clip" being able to add more controls to the video like fullscreen etc.
