Import Videos & Animated GIFs to show in interactive preview

Support to import a video or animated GIFs to simulate animations or even playable video.

Hello everyone! I’m excited to announce that in XD 45 (released today 10/26), you will be able to import MP4 video into your XD designs.

To ensure platform compatibility and performance across desktop, web and mobile preview, your video must be:

MP4
H.264
AAC audio
under 15 MB
4K or under resolution.

Enjoy and we can’t wait to see what you create!

XD does not support Animated GIF, so if you are still looking for that, please start a separate request and vote on it.

    What about embedding anything? I would love to embed a Typeform or Google Forms. It is very easy to create interactive forms that actually work and to test them with users. I would need to create header and side navigation with XD and include in the center of the prototype page a form created with these tools. Prototyping and interactive form simulation with XD takes ages, especially if you have dozens of questions in the self assessment form.

    This method worked for me using the Web Export plugin (for YouTube videos anyway). It allowed me to add a full width video in my prototype (files need to be exported to view). Of course, it's not the ask here, but it helped.

    Nowadays, videos, as well as Gif, are essential to a UI design app. Please add the function.

    come on, it's been 3 years. and been 9 months since this feature started. let's get this out already! maybe if you're not too confident yet, roll it out with a beta or something. some of us really need it and don't mind the possible bugs

    Surely this is a fundamental aspect to building a website that you can add a video to it? All the other free website building apps have them! Why not XD? Very frustrating...
