Import Videos & Animated GIFs to show in interactive preview

Support to import a video or animated GIFs to simulate animations or even playable video.

Hello everyone! I’m excited to announce that in XD 45 (released today 10/26), you will be able to import MP4 video into your XD designs.

To ensure platform compatibility and performance across desktop, web and mobile preview, your video must be:

MP4
H.264
AAC audio
under 15 MB
4K or under resolution.

Enjoy and we can’t wait to see what you create!

XD does not support Animated GIF, so if you are still looking for that, please start a separate request and vote on it.

    If we could import videos or GIFS to Adobe Xd, if would create much more interactive prototypes.

    I've got unsophisticated clients and teammates on this side of the world, and they tend to be 99% focused on flashy animations. I can make the most magnificent user flow, but if I can't keep the HUD dial rotating during an important drag effect, they can't see anything else.

    I know you're working on it. While animated gifs would probably be the fastest and simplest fix to include, I'd really love a perpetual "Rotate 180/second" sort of feature. That's the kind of thing I usually need. For more complicated animations, I think storing a series of artboards as a Component would be magnificent. I could keep transitions scrolling or rotating without needing to make a ridiculous number of artboards of the same UI just to simulate perpetual movement and lock me out of drag transitions.

    Just some ideas for actual implementation, however too late they probably are.
