Let us deside where to install it
UX software,
that give me a very first awfull experience just at installation, as it decide to install itself on the clutered C: drive while I have lot of free space on others drive.
p.s.
and while I am here, seriously, on desktop, why are you giving the advise of using space + LMB to navigate; and not giving the alternate way as it is here: the middle mouse button.
You can already set the install location of all of your Creative Cloud apps through the Creative Cloud desktop application. From the CC Desktop App, click on the Gear > Preferences > Creative Cloud and click on the drop-down underneath “Install Location.” As this is not an XD-specific request, I’m marking this as not a feature request.
Thanks,
-Elaine

I'm also still waiting for this feature. Also, why there are some copy.xd files created in my C:\Users\user\AppData. I don't have enough place there, let us decide !!!

Nope, this absolutely is a feature request - because you can't select the install location until you've installed the CC app.
And if you can't install the CC app because you can't specify the install location, i.e. you have a case sensitive drive format on OSX, then you're stuck.
So yeah, nah. The product manager who marked this as not a feature request doesn't have a clue about their own product.

Download trial ...install Creative Cloud = cannot select installation directory.
I agree with @anna, Is this the stone age?
Not a good first impression as I go to start the trial. -

@Elaine
Your answer is illogical: You suggest to change the install folder on the application preferences. Therefore after the app itself was installed.
I, and a lot of adobe users, would like to change the install folder, including the Adobe Cloud app install folder. But the install wizard don't let us the choice.
(I landed on this page because of the Adobe cloud install location) -

Agreed. Incredibly annoying feature of the CC install. It generates thousands and thousands of files adding up to gigs on the main HD even though you can select where to install the apps. Terrible UX I would say.

April 2019 and still installs to C drive. Just updated to the latest version of the main CC app and made sure that the install directory was where I wanted it. After closing preferences I checked it again just to make sure. I then installed other CC apps that had never been on here before and they still installed on the C drive. Starting to get low on space here...

Yeah, still tries to install to the C: drive. When will this be fixed?

Change Adobe CC Product installation directory
If you have the offline package:
You have to edit the "InstallDir" value inside the file setup config file: Application.json
The directory D:\Adobe CC 2018 was already created before the install.
At the end of the installation, the Media Encoder will found inside:
D:\Adobe CC 2018\Adobe Media Encoder CC 2018\Adobe Media Encoder.exeFor example,
for media encoder CC 2018:Set-up.exe is inside the folder ...\AdobeMediaEncoder12AllTrial
Edit the Media Encoder setup config file:
...\AdobeMediaEncoder12AllTrial\products\AME\Application.jsonBefore - contents of ...\AdobeMediaEncoder12AllTrial\products\AME\Application.json
"AppLaunch" : "[INSTALLDIR]\\Adobe Media Encoder CC 2018\\Adobe Media Encoder.exe",
"InstallDir" : {
"value" : "[AdobeProgramFiles]",After edit - contents of ...\AdobeMediaEncoder12AllTrial\products\AME\Application.json
"AppLaunch" : "[INSTALLDIR]\\Adobe Media Encoder CC 2018\\Adobe Media Encoder.exe",
"InstallDir" : {
"value" : "D:\\Adobe CC 2018",You can do the same for the Media Encoder codecs:
Edit the setup config file for the codecs:
...\AdobeMediaEncoder12AllTrial\products\CDEC\Application.jsonseems like "[D:\\Adobe CC 2018]" works, too, instead of "D:\\Adobe CC 2018"
After edit - contents of ...\AdobeMediaEncoder12AllTrial\products\CDEC\Application.json
"InstallDir" : {
"value" : "[D:\\Adobe CC 2018]"

Agreed, still installs on the C drive. Really limits the usefulness of the program for large amounts of files. It's an issue with all creative cloud products.

Doing exactly what you've told him/her doesn't actually change the installation directory. Yes you can change it in the preferences, but in reality it will still try to install whatever it is you're downloading onto the C: drive.
Thanks,
-This is pretty annoying
