Color Management (set color profiles)

XD should be a color managed application.

I'm not sure what the full context of color management is within the UI/UX industry is, or if it's something that many pay attention to, or if it's just left un-managed.
Currently a vast majority of designers are using high gamut displays to design. Our final output will however differ greatly without some proper color management implemented. If color managment is implemented, we can at least visually soft proof our design and colors to specific devices (ie: New iOS devices that support P3 color gamut), or older sRGB devices.
At the same time sRGB images used won't expand to the display's high color gamut, making them look over saturated.

(Currently using Windows Beta Version: 0.6.8.6)

I had the same problem - it is the Chrome, not Adobe XD problem.
In Chrome try this link chrome://flags/forcecolorprofile and on Force Color Profile enable sRGB. Works for me even with Hardware acceleration turned on.

[SOLVED] - Guys i was also having this problem that was getting me crazy, The colors were as they should on XD but when oppened the exported assets on photoshop with sRGB color profile defined all colors were washed out.
1st thing to do is to synchronize color profiles between all your CC apps, for that you need to open bridge and select the color profile suitable for your monitor, my monitor as a P3 profile and i'm able to select it so i did. From that all my CC apps are sharing the same color profile and now the exported assets from XD look exactly as i need them to look in all CC apps.

2nd the bloody google chrome is changing colors, to fix this all you need to do is goin to -> Settings -> Search for hardware acceleration and disable it and now the problem is fixed, if you drag an asset to chrome you will see the correct colors. Firefox and opera are working fine even with hardware acceleration

    Hope this helps
    Cheers

This is unbelievable, done all the possible export options and the images are looking washed out, like with
a 20% B&W filter. Loosing the true colors–the whole essence of the colors are lost. Can't believe this from all other possible bugs is real 2020 and one that is unacceptable. Bye.xd

I feel like any information I find on this from Adobe employees is missing the point, I'm not even sure if color management will fix the issue. The image exports are fine for me, but it's the HEX colors that are hurting my work. The brightness and saturation is so much brighter than the actual HEX colors developers will use. It makes my designs look drastically different than the final product.

I would like to stay working with XD, but the thing is that I'm color blind designer, so when working I need to trust in my computer for color precision. So for now I'll switch to Figma until you solve this issue. Figma is smaller than adobe but they solve easily this with a color space option to sRGB. Sadly this extremely important issue has 4 years old without any solution. Luckily I had 3 months using XD when I found this issue (not solved in 4 years), so I stoped to waste time using this tool and switch to Figma. When Adobe fix this I could be happy to give a try again. There is a screenshot that shows a brand color (Pantone 109C) on XD (left) and Figma with color space sRGB (Right), XD oversaturated the color... Even me (a color blind guy) can notice.

[solved] hello, i lived this, I feel I lose some of my hair in the process but I solved it, the problem is not with adobe xd is with chrome, I left adobe for figma (sorry adobe) to solve the issue and it kept happening, to finally see that is a chrome bug, all you have to do is disable hardware acceleration on chrome settings.

nevertheless this is a big issue for designers, as our users can see greatly different the design from what we intended.

Why doesn't adobe want me to be able to see the correct colors?
Only because of this problem i have to use a second low resolution display next to my new iMac ...

Why is this not even in Review or backlog? Consider that Figma and Sketch runs with correct colour profile and XD not instead of focus on animations etc, personal for me this is not a hight priority, why this is not being fixed. not even mentioning other things that designers expect to see when they switch from sketch or Figma.
Im not surprise why people talk so much about Figma.

I submitted web mockups using XD and was told the colors were much more desaturated than the selected color palettes. I initially hadn't noticed, but when holding up against the original palette I'm stunned. Why would the colors be this off? This is not an issue in Photoshop and cannot understand why Adobe set this up this way?

Xd appears to be properly aware of the color profile. This can be seen by the fact that Xd doesn't display an image with a custom profile embedded with RGB replaced with GBR in a psychedelic color.
However, it does not seem to recognize the monitor profile. I don't know why on earth they are implementing it this way.
Xd should at least implement a CMM equivalent to a web browser. The current implementation is completely incomprehensible.

I can not understand why colors in Adobe illustrator, do NOT match adobe XD... It is off by 15-20%. I am on a imac. Is it the software or the hardware.. please clue me in. And yes of course I am using RGB in illustrator.

So you can only really use Adobe XD if you want to design for sRGB color profile and have a monitor that already has a 95-100% sRGB color profile setting by itself?

Pretty sure Adobe has no budget to include this, because everything that's not going to stockholders is likely already spend for a tablet version of adobe XD for the iPad kids.

Color management in a design application isn't really a priority.
