PDF Export - compression options to reduce file size
Exported PDF are too big. Please add compression options like InDesign.
As of XD version 26, exported PDF file size is down by up to 90%, while retaining the current quality level.
Thank you for all your feedback!
This is outrageous and NEEDS TO BE FIXED ASAP. Dear Adobe clan please look after your paying customers.
This is insane. What's the deal with the image masks!? I've tried everything I can find but the only way to actually reduce really destroys the quality.
Hey guys, I found a bit of a workaround that hopefully helps someone. Not super proficient in this stuff, so forgive me if my method does weird things that I'm not aware of lol. Its not too cumbersome but obviously a direct version out of XD would be nice. Anyways, here is the workaround.
Open the large exported pdf file from XD in Acrobat. (my file was 184mb)
Go to File, Export to, Postscript. The file will now be totally flattened.
Open the .ps file you just generated by dragging and dropping the file onto Acrobat icon.
This will automatically run Adobe Distiller and will convert the .ps to a .pdf for viewing in Acrobat
Save this new PDF with reduced size! (Final size for my file was 8.8mb!!)
Hope this helps!

Way too big - they really should make all Adobe exporting options the same.
This is getting even more ridiculous with the latest update. I've got a 8x11' with one image (1.5mb) and the PDF export is coming in at 7.5mb. This is so horrible and it feels like they are pushing people to not use XD. I am thinking about abandoning it completely now.
Even if you open the file in Adobe DC Pro and save as an optimized PDF it refuses to downsample the images with masks… WTF? Adobe invented the PDF!
I have discovered, you can create the layouts in Illustrator - where you have greater control over file compression when creating PDFs, copy the entire artboard manually and paste it into XD for prototyping. All of the data is retained (fonts, size, color, etc.). Elements are grouped but can be manipulated separately.
This is really annoying !! Every time I convert files to PDF and gives a big file size. Recently I have converted my resume in a single A4 size page 595 pixels x 842 pixels and after conversion it's 843 KB.
is there any solution to this? a workaround maybe? The PDF file size is insane...
The size of PDF's is ridiculous. My clients are getting very frustrated. When will this be fixed?

please make compression option for this adobe XD
I guess this is still an issue, Oct'18 :/
PDF export options please! Some clients still prefer marking up PDFs and current ones are basically unusable due to the uncompressed sizes.

I can share a link but my bosses are rather conservative and prefer to watch the design as pdf. Please reduce file size so I can share it with them.
I really liked the program, but without PDF export options, I can't use it seriously. This is a complete WRENCH in the works, and the sole reason I will stop using it.

Sad to see that the Sept 2018 update still does not address the HUGE file sizes.

4 pages = 194MB!!!!!!!!
And why can't you copy and paste vectors from XD to Illustrator? This would be the quickest and most logical way to copy and paste my artboard to replicate it to another program but you can't... it pastes a pixelated version
Please, make our lives easier! Let us have lighter PDFs!

Is obvious WHY people complain about needing this pdf feature. Please, add it!!!!

Add this feature so I can stay in one program, instead of jumping around. Make it easier for us!
I guess this is still an issue. :( 10 pages = 40 MB...
