Select multiple items across different groups
Shift+Click allows to select multiple items.
Cmd+Click allows to select inside a group.
Cmd+Shift+Click would be nice if it selected items across different groups.
It's very useful to change details (i.e. color) across multiple items inside groups (i.e. icons).
Thanks!
This feature is now available in the March release! If you don’t see an update, select the … icon in the Creative Cloud desktop app and select “Check for App Updates.” If you have further feedback on this feature, please feel free to file a new ticket!

I can't seem to select objects that sit within different groups, is this normal behaviour?

I would like to move artboards with the elements that are placed off the artboard i.e. elements of the design that are not used in design but are left there as draft/variation/experiment/idea etc. or to make a title for a group of artboards.
Now it is only possible to move either those off-artboard elements or the artboards themselves. -

of all the things to update, this is surely one of the most important. Surprised it was missed.

Almost unusable without this feature.

This is a very frustrating feature not to have. It's one of the most noticeable features missing in my workflow at this point. I group lots of items, and it's a pain to move / edit similar items (that aren't symbols) at once. Such a small thing, with a big impact to efficiency.

Please add this ASAP, its really tough to work without this feature. Their is no way to multi-select elements within and outside the groups(except drag selection which is not helpful for text only selections).

Why hasn't this been done yet? This is such a basic feature!

Why the heck they don't realize this very basic thing ???!!!!! Trivial but very essential.

Sometimes I think that XD shouldn't be out of beta, it can't some really basic things like this, or make a a stroke gradient. Insane!

Please make it available .. If not we will have no choice but to look for the alternative ... It is very trivial but very important for the smooth working...

Ridiculous, Why Adobe?
Make the mover and direct selection work exactly like Illustrator, groups, points, all of it. Deruh. -

This is my biggest feature request. I don't understand how it doesn't have more votes; I run across this problem dozens of times a day.

This multiple choice behavior is included in each graphics program. I wonder why Adobe did not manage that with XD yet. For me, the program is unusable for this reason. Here, the features are prioritized incorrectly. Trivial features are implemented, although not even the skeleton stands.

Sometimes, i want to select non-grouped elements to align them. but in the meantime, to align those elements, i must group them first.
if there's a feature to this problem it would be very helpful. -

How is it that it has been close to two years this has been posted and still no comment from Adobe. Their other products allow for this so how hard can it be in to include this function into XD?

This is absolutely ridiculous that we can't do this. This is more of a bug than a feature request since it should have been here since day one.
I just decided I needed to add a drop shadow to some elements. There were 10 of them that were nested in groups and couldn't be symbols because they were too unique (if I was using sketch they could be though since they have better symbol overrides) so I needed to individually select each element and paste the appearance. PITA
