I’m happy to announce that starting today, with the latest update, Artboard Guides functionality is part of XD!

Creation is very simple, you can simply point to the top and left of any artboard, click and drag to create guides.

You can check how Guides work in a short video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnalFtR2KMA ) or check out Adobe XD’s help pages to see all the details of the feature (https://helpx.adobe.com/xd/help/artboards-grids.html#custom-artboard-guides).

    I posted this as a comment on the "completed" layout grid feature.

    It's not complete.

    If you want to know how grids and alignment should work in XD, just look at Sketch.

    The ability to have an actual measurement grid which scales with zoom and measures by pixel is invaluable.

    The best part of this tool is the ability to add a red line marker so that items can easily be aligned across multiple artboards.

    While Sketch has a number of features that XD doesn't, this is the primary feature that I miss when using XD.

    I've attached a file showing an example of what I'm talking about but just try it in sketch and you'll get it.

    Hi! I‘m using XD now since 2 months but really miss the alignment lines feature. Hope you add it in the next time!

    (I‘m actually thinking about which software to use because of this missing feature)

    I was happy to know that there was a competitor to Sketch and which users with Windows could use, but how can the most essential thing as guidelines and rulers be missing?

    Please add this feature, if Sketch can, you can.

    It really is essential for a professional workflow. Seems awfully late in development for this.
