I’m happy to announce that starting today, with the latest update, Artboard Guides functionality is part of XD!
Creation is very simple, you can simply point to the top and left of any artboard, click and drag to create guides.
You can check how Guides work in a short video ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bnalFtR2KMA ) or check out Adobe XD’s help pages to see all the details of the feature (https://helpx.adobe.com/xd/help/artboards-grids.html#custom-artboard-guides).
Happy designing!

This picture was done in "sketchup" and "adobe xd" could benefit from its workflow that would simplify design process.
+Ability to generate custom guides
+Ability to use dimension tool to manually type and gap size between & part size of selected object either in pixels or millimeters. -

Seriously, I'd start using this app tomorrow if it had Guides and the ability to create guide layouts - totally baffled as to why it hasn't happened yet!

Many of us come from programs like Photoshop and Sketch etc and using XD which is missing basic features we come to rely on after living with them for so long makes it a deal breaker. I really really want to love XD hence I'm here taking my time to give you feedback but we need certain basic (and a few killer) features to swap. Guides, global styles, symbols in which you can link individual elements to different pages (the same way a real menu works) overlays of symbols on top of artboards and persistance (floating) headers and sidebars are definitely at the top as that's how real websites are made and I can't make real website designs without these features. At best XD is a wireframing tool right now.

I hadn't review Xd again since you guys launched the first beta. I seem to remember not been crazy about it, so I kept working with Sketch. Today; don't know how, I went back to check out for updates and things were looking pretty good... After looking more info, I felt I could jump and try it, until I saw the lack of Guides!?. The only option of grid it doesn't work for me at all. be able to set grids and use guides is a deal breaker.
Sorry guys -

What?? I don't believe this. This was requested on 26, May 2016, and still not considered??? This is basic!

At MAX 2016, they told us they intentionally left out guides because the snapping is so smart we wouldn't need it. This would be cool and I wouldn't mind, but it is simply not the case. Even when I have a 12 column grid, I have trouble aligning objects to it. I need to zoom in to like 700% and nudge it with the keyboard because it snaps like 10px to the left or to the right of the grid object.

As a responsive web UX designer, this is one of the most important missing features from Xd. Is there a reason why this feature is still under review?
I've actually experimented with using repeat-grid boxes as guides to some marginal success, but it's difficult to do the maths every time I want a guide layout.

guides are necessary when your object does not fit the exact size of the pixel grids, pls add it!
