I’m happy to announce that starting today, with the latest update, Artboard Guides functionality is part of XD!

Creation is very simple, you can simply point to the top and left of any artboard, click and drag to create guides.

    Having a difficult time without this in XD while designing responsive web. Smart Guides are great, they get the job done when trying to align items with others, but setting a specific, initial column layout to follow is crucial and I don't have the ability to do that.

    I don't just want "Guides", i want the "Generate guide layout" feature from Photoshop CC 2015!

    Don't know why the demand for 'this feature' + 'ruler' are thought by the XD team to be an utter revelation. Had expected these two features to be there in very initial updates actually.

    Yes please! When designing for web, I like to start with a 1920 wide file but my content grid changes. You could add some preset web grids just like you have the preset iOS, windows etc UI kits

    In reality I cannot work without guides, presume other people have this issue sooner or later

    Agreed—this is really what would allow me to scrap InDesign for UI work.

    My specific case: (and I'm guessing for many designers out there), we're using columnar grids on the web these days similar to the way print designers use them (define margins, then a number of columns at a specified width, with a specified gutter). For this feature, InDesign is still superior.
