It would be great if i can cut path and add thing as per our requirement. Right now i have to achieve these thing with (add, subtract, intersect,). It would be great if we have these options as we use to do in Photoshop shape tool.

@david You are correct. Currently in XD, you can delete anchor points on a Path, but there's no way to delete a segment to change a closed Path to an unclosed Path.

When I try to use the solution @randy Edmunds gives, (using subtraction tool), the original shape joins itself across the removed area.

For example - if I want a half circle, I create a circle (no fill, with just border) - then I place a box over the bottom half...when I click SUBTRACT - the to ends of the circle connect....not sure why - but i can't seem to get that to work correctly....

I agree - scissors is needed.

You can do this with a slightly different workflow using the Subtract feature. Draw a Rectangle over the part of the Circle that you want to delete, select both shapes, and then Subtract. See gif:

Or you can draw Rectangle over part of Circle that you want to keep and use Intersect.

It would be very useful to delete a path in between two points. (example: create a circle shape with the ellipse tool, then double click to select the points. Select one of the lines and delete to make a perfect half circle.)

You can accomplish that using the subtraction tool.

In this gif, I start with 2 concentric ellipses. I subtract one from the other and set fill color to black. I then draw a triangle that I subtract from first element.

Please add a functionality for deleting parts from path like other adobe programs.

This tool is definetly needed in XD. Otherwise you have always to change between Illustrator and XD.

I agree. I'm trying to slice a complex vector right now and it's getting super difficult.

Give us a better snipping. For example, Illustrator features a good snipping, but this one feels like a "Snipping: Lite version" :D
