Scissor tool/slice vector path
Making more complex vector drawings is difficult without a tool like the scissor tool from Illustrator.
Creating arches like the attached image in Illustrator is super easy with the combination of the scissor and circle tool, but in XD it is very difficult.

Or at least... allow us to delete a point... (So we can have open shapes)

Very annoying and limiting. I wouldn't have to go back to Illustrator nearly as often if this wasn't an issue.

If I create an shape, then double-click on the border, I'm giving a number of points that that the shape is divided into, then I can mess around with distorting the shape to my will, in one of the videos it was claimed that if you hold Alt+Del you can delete a section of that shape, say a square, and create interesting designs; I tried deleted other parts of the shape in this similar fashion, but it always breaks only the top right portion of that shape; was that intended? If not, how would one delete a portion of a shape, thus making it open, but the portion that we chose no the default.

The subtract tool doesn't cut shapes paths and because there is no scissor tool if you want a path that are open and not fully closed you have to draw it manually

Final straw really. XD is hopelessly unfinished and will remain so.
The lack of color profiles.
The lack of proper SVG exports - I need usable code that doesn't create shortcuts using 'transform' but proper paths. It may pass for a basic graphic designer but it's unusable as a developer.Figma seems to be the way forward.
Adios.

Hey. So there might not be a precise way to do this in xD, but someone commeneted below a great workaround using the dash and gap options on a shape (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vVkSclfsaFA). This can give you control over the gap needed in an circular shape. If that doesn't work, you can always use illustrator! Just create the custom vector shape in Ai, then copy and paste that into xD. You'll be able to edit the color, size and caps of the stroke just like in illustrator. I think that solves the problem quite well!! Hope that helps! :)

Ah, it's not just me then!
You obviously cannot trim, slice, or cut a closed path in Xd. I thought the tool was merely well-concealed, but it is actually nonexistent.

If only Adobe would respond to this thread and say something like: Yeah, we know. We just haven't gotten to it yet. Or: Here's a work around… [the rectangle tip doesn't cut it — literally]. Posting into an unanswered thread is just super frustrating to everyone.

Great idea.. I would rather use XD but this issue is really annoying

Scissor tool would be SUPER helpful and some have argued essential for vector editing.

This is essential for vector editing. Can't understand how something essential like this is not incorporated. Literally only thing that keeps me from switching to XD is lack of cut tool.

For those looking for a quick work around. Here's a cool video on how to make a circular progress bar using dashed strokes.

right now if you draw a line with four points you cannot select the middle segment of the line, then delete it, changing it to two separate lines. I would like to see this functionality in XD. Deleting points sequentially from the end just does not cut it, too often I have to go back to illustrator for basic path editing.

Please add cutting paths to unclosed paths.

how about either a direct selection tool - or introduce the old adobe FLASH / ANIMATE drawing method where you could break apart the bezier and marquee select the elements of a path/fill to modify or delete.
example would be to create a perfect hemisphere/arc from a circle - at the moment there is no way other than freeform an arc to create it perfectly (not that I know of). ideal method:
- draw a circle with border and no fill
- direct select the left/right side and delete it
- leaving you with a perfect hemisphere line -

Scissor tool implementation would be great !

Hey Adobe, you have the knowledge and the possibilities to implement basic features in XD like mirror and rotate objects around a defined point, cutting and joining path, duplicate objects with a defined value like in illustrator? This is one of the basic reasons why I not will change to XD.
Best
