Scissor tool/slice vector path
Making more complex vector drawings is difficult without a tool like the scissor tool from Illustrator.
Creating arches like the attached image in Illustrator is super easy with the combination of the scissor and circle tool, but in XD it is very difficult.

The only export I can find in XD is of specific elements. But the developers need *parts* of elements -- like a top corner, a side, and a bottom corner. I don't see how this can be done without re-creating the design in individual pieces. It would be so much better if XD had a slice tool that could combine parts of multiple elements.

Agree with Daniel! I find it almost impossible to work effectively without a slice tool. Yes, the design is complete, but handing this to a development team is a nightmare without the slice tool.

There is an option to "Substract" in Object -> Path. I used that.

ALLO ! Slice tool needed. !

There's this option of a repeat grid when we select a shape. Try that out.

Still Slice tool not available in XD? I can't understand without this Slice tool how We (Designers ) can give Assets to developer without proper Alignment?

On PC, alt delete just deletes everything... no other variation of keys has worked for me so far.

Does anyone know the shortcut for Windows? If I had Mac I would already be using Sketch, only using XD because I am on windows. Ctrl + del deletes the anchorpoint but doesn't open it
Considering just switching to Figma instead, based on these comments and the number of times I have had to google how to do pretty basic tasks in XD (and come up empty) it feels like it would be a vast improvement.

Guys there's a shortcut to delete an anchor point and open a path segments. For Mac hold Alt (option) and Command + Delete. But it still doesn't seem to really help the workflow. Although it doesn't let me chose the point or segment I want do delete. Awfull.

Try alt delete. I needed to do a circular progress bar so I drew a circle and selected a point. The next segment of line disappeared after alt delete

This is one of the most infuriating things about XD, it stops me in my tracks for such long periods of time trying to work out the most simple vector function. Today i needed to show a circular progress bar... trying to remove points in the circle... UGH! still don't know how to, open up illustrator to do a task that takes 30 seconds... sort it out ADOBE!

how is this still a thing?

I think this is intentional to make users switch over and use something like Illustrator of Photoshop and as such use the PAID parts of Adobe CC. And yes that is a terrible idea since as is evidence in these comments people will just switch over to Figma which can do everything instead of switching over to Illustrator or PS.

I just remembered why I stopped using XD a few years back. I decided to use XD for a new UI project because my Sketch license expired. I figured that by now that the obvious feature gaps would be fixed... Thus my "googling" brought me here.
ADOBE, pretty please! :) This feature should be a given for any vector-based software!

Jesus christ how is this not a feature already? I am literally about to switch my whole design team back to Figma because this is like the 10th basic thing I've found that XD can't do

Yes. This would be nice to have. I am finding that I need a more basic method of slicing closed lines when I drag a square onto an artboard. For some reason deleting the Alt tool is just confusing.

I'v tried Alt/option+del to delete one part of a line, and found that it will automatically delete the last part of the line whatever I've chose any other points...so I see XD add this function, but not a completely function like a scissor. When will the function like a regular scissor be online?

While a scissors tool may well be useful for certain tasks, when creating arcs it would be far better to retain editability. This would require a checkbox for "open/closed" on a circle shape, and inputs for start angle and end angle. Plus, of course, one for choosing straight or round caps for the stroke ends. Like this control, in Paintcode. Would be super useful.
