This is a basic feature that really should be part of the program.

fi fi fi fi fi.
i can turn ligatures on / off on the web, but not on a web prototyping tool? i would think this would be a given. would love to see this fixed asap.
Adding a space between an f and an i and then making the character spacing a big negative #. super clunky workaround.

Hm, yes, i guess ligatures is one of some missing properties edditing on xd.
Also, you can imagine how ligature issues can influence marketing choices on the font selection even if the problem is not a really one. Thanks guys for your work, but we still need updates.

CSS options should be supported.

We need a whole typography option overhaul. As powerful as Illustrator's type-tools would be nice. Look at this. XD cannot render the "fi" and "ff" ligatures.
We can't use XD the way we need it.

Ligature issue with text "fi". It converts into " ( "
Any solution to this? I'm using XD (27.0.12) on Windows 10.

ligatures work but I have to use all small caps to make it show otherwise XD always capitalise first letter

Please, custom fonts are defaulting to their alternate characters. XD is awesome, but it's becoming obnoxious to work with.

Stupid workaround for now: Give character spacing +0.1.

Variable fonts anyone?

Textfields use ligatures by default and don't provide an option to disable.
This behavior causes a bug when using very wide Character Spacing.
Note the "ff" ligatures in a word with otherwise very large character spacing. -

This would be a very useful option. Any update on this?

It would be nice to have the baseline options for text like in InDesign. Especially the option to offset the text to cap height for pixel perfect positioning and aligning.

Hello !
As an UI designer, i'd like a better management of the text. There are not enough options for the text editing : it should be as complex as photoshop (minimum) or indesign ! (the best)
The ligatures are automatic with fonts that have ones and there's no way of disable them.
