This would be an extremely useful feature. User input is most basic user interaction with most apps. But that is what all 200+ comments are echoing here.

Is this feature even on the product roadmap? Four years is a long time to review something. Either you are going to do it or not.

PS How many votes are needed for this to make the cut as it were?

Just evaluating XD for a project and this is a deal breaker. Without text entry XD just doesn't cut the mustard, especially in terms of usability testing, but also for simply demonstrating interactions to development teams.

Please do this. For user testing it would be great not to have to explain how to get around an interface and just see what people do and make sure that they understand what types of data needs to be entered.

This seems to have been under review since July 12, 2016? Adobe can you please provide an update on this? It renders a lot of usability testing impossible in XD.

Really important feature guys.

A prototyping tool should really have this by default. Basic UI components that are actually interactive (e.g. text input, text area, checkboxes) are vital. For user testing, we have to create multiple screens to 'fake' this effect. Not only is this very difficult to manage, especially for complex journeys, but it also impacts the prototype's realism in usability testing. In a user test, the amount of times I've had to intervene when users say 'why can't I type in the box?' is innumerable. Frankly, I find it astounding why, which exception of Axure, no prototyping tool offers this - from Adobe XD, to Sketch, to Balsamiq. I'd happily migrate to Adobe XD if you add this!
