Text input field with actions based on value
For prototyping and user testing, a text input field control would be very helpful. Bonus if you could apply actions to enter / submit based on different strings.

This feature would be much needed for many of my projects!

For my gradation project it would be really sufficient if my test users are able to put in text by themselves.

5 years, still "under review"

So surprised and disappointed that this is not possible!

Absolute fail on the XD product team. Especially for their large enterprise customers that do more than just pretty landing pages and basic marketing websites.

I hate to be a broken record but it keeps stunning me that Adobe thought it was more important to implement 3d transforms over basic browser functionality that has existed for over 25 years, and has existed in UIs at least since Zerox PARC.
I have a suggestion for the Adobe team: cover the basic functionality offered in HTML 1.0, then 2.0, and so on before you try to implement fancy HTML5/CSS3 stuff. It's just embarrassing not to be able to implement this basic stuff in our prototypes and designs.

Being able to have users/testers input text into text boxes would be great.

I would like to be able to enter real text into input fields in prototypes.

extremely important feature. Also drop downs are a must. Im trying to shift from Axure rp to XD, but i think ill have to stick to both for the time being, which is both time consuming and frustrating...

Hoping this gets added soon. Important for app development.

Really don't understand how an application like adobe can miss such a basic feature for years?
Do you guys can suggest an alternative to Adobe XD which have this feature. Thanks! -

This features should have been part of XD prototyping tools from the start. Why is it taking 5 years? My team and I are getting very frustrated.

Add me up to the waiting list please. Much needed for video DEMO recording. though I see 4 years have passed since it is on review.

Oh please add this! I've been waiting since Xd was called Comet for this.... This is literally the only thing that is missing for me personally. Every company I work for I design Enterprise level web applications that require form based user testing for workflows. Not everyone is designing simple websites!

I'm creating wireframes and prototypes for an enterprise grade, Government App with a highly assured identity and account creation process. I'd like to be able to prototype a high fidelity version that we can use across streams within our team to help our feature refinement and iteration process. Would be great to be able to call the native keyboard and enter text (no validation required) and allow the user to tap through the process. For multi-variant options, an option like a long-press or double-tap on the primary button (e.g. submit) could call a varient path (similar to validation error etc). Just a matter of linking the paths in Prototype and assigning a function (either a success path or failure path). This would be a massive help and avoid doing a lot of manual work-arounds.

If Figma can have this feature, why can't Adobe XD?

This feature would really increase productivity when creating form flows.
Anyone seen that Preely have a feature to augment XD prototypes with form input fields?
Download the plugin and export your prototype for user test. At Preely you can add input fields as needed before sending out for user testing.
