Customize Keyboard Shortcuts
I know that your design team probably had some rationale when defining shortcut keys for actions. For example, Z does not bring up the zoom tool, A is used for artboard creation instead of direct selection, etc. On the And that's fine - you can't design for the convenience of every user. But it'll be super duper awesome if you can let us define our own shortcuts... and sooner rather than later please.

Admin I'm also struggling with the latest update turning the £ symbol into a keyboard shortcut :(
Would hope that I could change this. -

Admin!
You just released shortcuts for switching between Design, Prototype and Share. But the commands [Option] and 1, 2 and 3 on a mac with swedish keyboard settings are used for typing ©, @ and £ respectively. And now, when I want to type any of those characters XD switches to one of the viewing modes instead.
Could you disable this functionality when users are typing in an active text area?

UPDATE: Totally forgot about this: there's a nifty windows app (I'm sure a similar app, I think it was called Robot.. something for Mac) called Autohotkeys which allows you to map unique combinations of hotkeys to unique combination of clicks; so you can technically create a combo that would let you use the general Ctrl+Click to a select an object after being creating it. (https://www.autohotkey.com/)
As a UX/UI student, and a new user of this tool, I find it a bit crazy that this option does not exist in any form, even limited agile set of keyboard mappings would be good to start. A as an example, in PS, once you create an object/layer, you can hold ctrl+drag that layer/object all over the screen. Currently, in XD, you have to manually select the selection then be able to use features like drag one, select all, etc.. similar to PS.
It looks like the spacebar+drag allows you to drag the entire canvas, so why can't there be a custom mapping or at least a 'general best practice' mapping of ctrl+drag, regardless of what tool is currently selected, to move objects around?
I think this XD has so much potential but as a tool that's been around long enough, something like this should have been baked in by now.

They haven't fixed this yet?!

Some of the shortcuts are completely unusable in my opinion, like show/hide layout grid, which I use constantly. Please, please allow shortcut customization.

I really want to be able to customise shortcuts - my hands are too small to easily reach some of the multi-key shortcuts that I want to use regularly!

I don't get the reason behind this being in the backlog for 3 years. You can animate 1000 layers with a single click with XD but yet can not change a single stupid keyboard shortcut? Still? Sigh.

Problem: Too few shortcuts:
- I don't mind learning new shortcuts. Or customizing ones that are made for US keyboard layout.
- Or event switchin keyboard language per application, like I do when working in After Effects.
- But in Adobe XD I'm missing interface-navigation shortcuts. Stuff I'm used to from Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Sketch.
- I find that I'm using my mouse and a lot more than in other programs. Move to input, click, enter value and then back to mouse.Missing shortcuts:
- Jump to X-position variable
- Open/close folder in layers list
- Zoom to 100% and center element in one shortcuts
- Anything relevant from other Adobe applications like Photoshop and Illustrator. -

Please add this! Switching between Illustrator and XD is tricky since the shortcut keys are drastically different.

that is ridiculous. with all the different keyboards out there and a tool for professionals who are very used to work with shortcuts. Please big Adobe, hear your crowd and dont loose touch to the base and integrate that feature. thank you

I'm very much used to the shortcuts used in Illustrator, Indesign and Photoshop. Almost every shortcut in those programmes are the same as one another. Xd seems to be very different and I don't understand why. Customising the shortcuts would definitely solve this problem!
By the way, why is there a 'preferences' button when there's no 'preferences' menu?

Come on, this cannot be so difficult to manage. I can imagine it's a little bit tougher than implementing a UI around changing entries in an XML file, and applying those changes on the fly, but this has really been one of the most requested features for XD. Any design/development tool worth its salt has this by default on release.
What frustrates paying users is that (on top of usefull stuff) every single update releases insignificant minutia no one asked for in lieu of something meaningful like editing keyboard shortcuts, on which there is no ETA.

Why are there no Preferences? Custom Keyboard Shortcuts specifically.
